Title: Forum Jump Function
Post by: X-F3R on May 04, 2005, 05:23:37 PM: wee! just like back in the old days, i'd be the guy who'd suggest for crazy and somehow irrelevent, yet useful functions for the forums.

ok, as we know, many other forums have the "Forum Jump" Function. i thought it was useless until i moved here to my home country and had 56k as my connection. before it was always Right-Click and Open in new window but now, that takes WAY too long to load for me and other 56k users. also, whenever i log into my account, the main page doesn't load, which is very odd and i still have not found a solution.

i know it looks like i'm suggesting stuff that will make my life in charas easier. but then again, i'm also helping other 56k users =]]

and another suggestion which is just an edit of one of my earlier suggestions. u know when topics get to over 3 pages and stuff.. let's say there's a topic that has.. say.. 30 pages.. it would look like this:

i guess some of you are like "WHY, X! WHYYYYY!?" well, let's say someone made a very good topic and people were replying faster than raindrops on a stormy night, i posted say.. on the 29th page and after i have posted and returned to the mainpage, there are now 30 pages. of course i wanna check out the posts posted after the one i made. i'd have to go into page 30 or page 1,2 or 3, then click on the shortcut to page 29.

guys, replies plz.. and.. i think i'll go buy a book that teaches PHP or something.

Oh yeah, I have a suggestion for the forum too! Why not make the "whois" thing "Who is" and on the "Who is online" page, why not make it say is editing HER profile", "checking HER PMs", and "looking at HER own profile" when the user is a chick?

it would be sexier if it would be both =D i just think it should be in every page with the "New Topic" button =P

man.. all those other boards have a similar source code, meaning it's possible that they took it from a site or something. i say that because of the similarity of functions and layout. charas' forums however, was made by DeKoffie.

anyway, another edition would be showing the first post when replying.. doh.. i'll learn PHP! i feel so demanding when i make posts like these XD

I don't think their is an official "feedback" system, so you'd be best to just PM your idea to Alex.

As you know, the PUB was originally developed by Koffie, and then by me to reach the actual status.
To work on a forum code may be easy or hard, but it reqiures time, which i don't have so often.
I'll keep note about these suggestions, but honestly i can't promise anything about "when will it be done?".
