Title: FFVII For PS3?

Just after watching an episode of Cinematech on G4 TV, I saw the opening of FF7, but w/ the detail of Advent Children. When the camera was zooming out of Midgar, The title said Final Fantasy VII. Underneath it it said Technical Demo For PS3. Now, they could just be messing around w/ the graphics, but could it possibly be a remake of the best FF game ever made?

My guess is that it's just marketing. Show a FF7 tech demo, make people think it's coming out so they buy the system, and we never waste the money but the profit from all the fools who bought a PS3! MWAHAHAHAHAH! Or, it could be getting revamped graphics, who knoes.

This was one of the first questions asked at E3 when they showed the demo, and Square confirmed that there WON'T be an FF7 remake.

If any game needs to be redone, it's Abe's Oddeysee. That game was so f'ing brilliant. The only game that should be redone off PS1, IMO.

Square said they wouldn't remake FFVII, but there's so much support for it that they probably will end up doing it. And I'm sure they could make some good money off it, too - imagine if they released it with the launch of the PS3.
But if/when they do, then they'd better remake some other FF games too. VI definately, and either VIII or IX.

lol Well, it looked cool. When the trained pulled into the station and Cloud jumped out. It was KICK ARSE!!! XD You should've seen it. It would be nice to see all the characters in that kind of graphics. That's why I can't wait for Advent Children. But why would they make another movie when FF: Spirits Within failed?

It failed because it had nothing to do with the FF series.

Where as AC has high value on the FF series, specially the most famous one.

back on topic- I didnt reallylike  FF7  the raphics bugged me and It wasn't as good as  VIII,beside the fact it came out before 8. FF7 was...I dunno I just didnt like it

They did it because they didn't intend on making a full movie. After a while they thought, whoaly zen, that looks awesome, so they shoved the original movie off the table and made a complete movie around Final Fantasy VII.

Me and my friend were talking about The FF7 remake because I watched the Tech Demo On Gamespot and was amazed.

I really would like to see a remake but since square said no they probally will not make it even if a pention goes around.

but we got talking about if they did remake it they should keep the game exactly the same Except for the Cut Secens they would use the new graphics .... it be pretty funny to see it made like that

... ffvii advent children i think was screened at the venice film festival... it got good marks by the overlookers... i think it was in japanese/english subtitles.

ps: just because you dont appreciate spirits within doesnt mean the movie failed at all, many people still are fans of it.

ps's ps: i was about to say something awesome, i have no idea or recollection what it is... sorry.

If anything, Square should make a create your own final fantasy game, so u can select from older ff game stories and a few they made up, make characters yourself or use FF characters. That would be awesome. Yet it would be unbelievably hard to do.

Yes I saw this FF7 demo when they showed it for the first time... I hate those bastards.. "blah blah blah there won't be a remake" If they make a Final Fantasy X-3 I'll cry.

you can find the demo thingy on Game Trailers and a lot of other sites but you dont have to sign up on there to see it.

i personnaly ould like to experience ffvii again with ps3 graphics.

battles with J-E-N-O-V-A would be real awesome.

the rollercoaster mini game in the golden saucer would be pretty awesome.

the whole game would be all around awesome.

I could definetly handle a PS3 FFVII.  Chocobo racing wouldn't suck anymore!  HOLY HELL, THINK OF KNIGHTS OF ROUND!!!!  Damn, they'd probably extend the animation for it even MORE.  So now using W-Summon on KOR will take so long that Meteor will hit the Planet...damn.  KOR = Game Over.  I would lvoe to see new world graphics because the weird arms they had...*shivers* ...were a turn-off to many gamers.  They should definetly KEEP ruby and emerald weapon.  Those were actually ADDED to the US version to give Americans a challenge after they botched the game by making it retardedly easy.

I would not mind a full-blown action sequence for the whole Cloud/Zack FMV either.  It would be nice to see EXACTLY what happened so no fans can argue about whether Zack lived or died.  (Personally, I think SQUARE killed him but it is fun to speculate.  Especially when the guy in the tube-thingy in Midgar looks like he has gangrene [from being shot] and has the same tattoo Zack would have.)

Meh, I'd rather play a new Final Fantasy game then play a remade version of an old one. If anything, they'll probably just re-release FF VII sometime with a few touch ups and such like they did with all the other Final Fantasy games (except 3 which was one of my favorites :( )

And you can't really say FF7 was the 'best' Final Fantasy game, since thats just a matter of opinion. Instead, you should say FF7 was my favorite game ;)

Actually, If you go to the Squar Enix site and check out FFAC you will notice that "Zack" is one of the characters in the movie and since FFAC takes place two years after the game ...... well you can figure it out.

unless it's a flash back sequence that happens then you'll find out then anyway.

But a PS3 FF7 remake would be nice to see, actually any FF remake for PS3 would be awesome .... because to me all FF's are equally the same for there own reasons they all suck just as much as they rock.



Off Topic: Too my surprise I found a Game that completley sucked that was made by SE, the best part of it was the Preview to FF - X2. That was "Unlimited Saga"

new here, was just browing through, but I thought I'd make a note about this...

every game console out there is priced at less than the cost to make it, that is to say while you are only paying $200/$300, it's costing them at least $500 to make it.

they make all their money off of the games (much the same thing with cars and printers)

so, if you buy a PS3 and never buy any games for it.... to say the least, it will really suck for them

that said, I personally would love to see a remake of FFVII, but they're probably not going to do that. it was just a tech demo to show of the graphical ability of the console (just look at how long it took square to remake their earlier games)

I personally would like to see them remake some of the earlier ones with 3d graphics... it'd be awesome to see FFVI like that

No, the development of the tech and whatnot is why the cost so much. The components (plastic casing, circuitry, whatnot) of a PS2 cost about 20 bucks. Its the develpment that they have to raise. A piece of plastic does not cost 500$. They cost so high because they need to make the money back that went into developing the system. And trust me, with all the Sony fanboys in the world Sony's gonna have problem making the money back. PSP is already creating profit.
