Title: real life or comp file?
Post by: J-boy on August 08, 2005, 12:47:44 AM
okay, if your religious maybe don't read i dunno as i'm not very religious.

what if the world is a big computer file that is used for aliens to brcome smarter like for new inventions like the bike, radio, etc that they missed. the comp file was made by making animals and giving them instincts that are always the same.
e.g.
lions making groups and kings not doing much

certain genders watching eggs
/////////////////////////////////////
anyways, that might explain why ecosystems fit together perfectly

humans on the otherhand have no instincts (magor) so we are always different like when were born are personality is random, thus having lots of different opinins.

maybe its a game and they wait to see if we will save our selves or be blown up by the sun.

kind of weird anyways, any comments? this is just a thought not a theroy although there is nothing proving this wrong, yet.

p.s.
sry i did'nt go in-depth maybe if people talk more about this i'll say more.

... Matrix?
Title: no
Post by: J-boy on August 08, 2005, 01:05:23 AM
not exactly more of an alien thing. matrix would be the closest thing to it though. sims sort of but you would'nt control the people instead watch and see them evolve and learn.

Ehhh.............

I think aliens just observe us. They study our culture the way we study the lives of animals, but really we learn nothing form them because we are much more advanced.

I don't think that us ourselves is actually a program designed by higer life-forms, but that is an interesting theory.

yeah i don't think were a program either but it's a funny thought.

but what if they did'nt watch us to learn instead they watched us for entertainment like in that episode of south park.

p.s.
that speed kill thing you posted was sweet!

Aye, it was.

But why they watch us, we may never know. Perhaps for entertainment, perhaps for scientific study, perhaps they're bored as hell and just like ******************************* with us.

We do have instincts as animals have personalities...Just most people like to think we're different from them because we're the everlasting, evergrowing sickness on this earth. Since we're like the ones with the technology and stuff, and animals just have..what? Their bare claws, and the fur/scales/feathers/whatever on their backs. Once, our main goal was simple...be born, grow up, mate, kill, and die..or something along those lines. Now, it's just extra stuff that was added along the way. Mweh..

Mid's right.  Humans are "advanced" animals.

It ain't that simple, but meh... if humans just had claws or scales/fur, it would make little difference, humans have that drive to continue, to "advance"

Also take into account, a piece in history where African slaves started to revolt, a revolution. Yet we keep pets, and farm animals, but they do not have a revolution, they don't suddenly decide to fight for freedom but instead blindly follow their purpose they were given. A human would have decided "I'm not taking this" banded together and revolted somewhere along the lines.

*glares at df* DUN DO THAT ANYMORE!! lmao, jk XD

Wouldn't it be because we're more um..evolved then other animals..? That in our minds, we want more then food, sleep, and other simple things..? That because of our ever growing minds, we crave information...and as you said, because of that 'drive' we want to continue our path and advance until we reach the final stage, and attempt to find a way pass that barrier. I mean, ppl's greatest weakness (well, one of the many) is their thirst for knowledge. There seems to be a limitless supply..XD

What I meant was. It ain't as simple as animals not having the tools neccesary to advance, quite contrary, they have enough to advance, numbers is what it takes and they have that. It takes those mental procedures to construct, to design, to advance.

Dogs could build structures, even design clever traps for prey to fall into. But the thing is, they do not, even after seeing humans do it they never take it into much thought. They need no hands for it, they have perfect digging devices, their claws, and they could dig a deep enough hole and then drag sticks and leaves over it. It's amazing what potential they have, yet they don't do it. They've even had enough time to develop such things.

Animals lack the inventive spark humans have. A sad lonely species humans are, no other species can even quite understand at equal fields, for an animal it's more basic, eat, drink, live, and make a litter. No drive to think outside the box. Leaving humans all alone up the ladder. It's pretty lonely, I tell you.

I once tried talking to a dog back in my younger years, the dog gave me this "Huh?" look and walked off and I was like "Thank you for your short attention span!"

this was kinda like what i was talking about humans would continue to advance but everything else would just stay the same because that's the way they were programmed, "no ambition for the future" (sry for wierd phrase) anyways the only creture that makes traps/tools is the monkey now (excluding humans) i hope you guys relize i don't belive in the comp file thing it was just a weird thought i thought i'd share here. (when i was stoned out my mine  (J)   :smoke: with my buddies in the little 70's circle, j/k i hope that means im joking)

A big part of the way we adapted, has to do with our apposable thumbs. That is why a dog could not build a structure, or design a trap. perhaps animals have the same thirst for knowlege as we do, but they satisfy it in diffrent ways.

Aye, but the jews didnt revolt.

And oh yeah, dogs DO have the creative spark. Try looking up where praire dogs live and the underground societies they make.

Pfft. Everyone thinks that their are creatures, aliens out there that are smarter than us.

But look at Earth. Humans are the top of the intellegence. I reckon, if there any aliens out there, they're not watching us. Much less, they are stupid creatures, like a lizard or something. Chances are they haven't evolved past where we are technologically.

I have yet another realization. Edited from a convo becuse I dont feel like putting it in paragraph form.

Me: Or maybe I'm still 5 years old, asleep, and everything thats happened so far has been a dream
Me: its possible
Me: maybe your entire life is just based on my dream
Me: Maybe everyone I know, and eevryone you know, and everyone in the world's life is just a part of my dream
Me: Or maybe I'm part of someone else's dream
Me: Maybe this entire world is just one persons dream
Me: Dreams could actually be something like this!
Me: Maybe, in the "real world", the way someone dreams is by counjuring up an entire solar system full of life
Me: However, in this world, everything we know is just someones dreams. All of our theories about space, time, and even dreams, they're just the way our world hgappens to work in this particular person's dream
Me: And the people who are actually dreaming these things... well, we have no idea anything about them. They might not even be human or resemble anything about our culture. For all we know, they could be multi-colored cubes living in a world of spheres and cones.
Me: That's the REAL world and they have these complex dreams that are US and everything around us.
Me: All of our memories and understanding, our laws of science and such are all apart of their complex dreams.
Me: Or maybe in that world, it isnt a dream. Maybe its a past-time, or something done sub-conciously by all being. We exist within their mind and they dont even know it.
Me: Or perhaps we exist within our own minds.

Ecosystems fit together because things that disturb the balance are eliminated over time. Arguably, ecosystems do not really have a balance, but are changing at such a slow rate that we cannot observe the changes easily.
Asakura, I have had dreams within my dreams on occasion. What's interesting is that on waking up from my last dream/w/dream, my first, distinct thought was "That was a crazy dream" and I had an overwhelming sense of reality. Compared the the d/w/d, my dream felt undeniably real. What makes that any different from waking up into reality?

A long time ago when I was 10 I used to think that we are a television program for aliens. 4 years later South Park made an episode about what I believed for a few months. ****ing hilarious.
