Title: Hate to do this but...
Post by: BlackIceAdept on January 25, 2006, 01:48:20 AM
Where the hell has the semi-real rule of no one post noob, only here to get help, whining can't do "anything" by themselves, people being told to do two key things (which incase you all forgot was 1) go to the test&welcome board and introduce themselves, and 2) get to know the people and see if they like you) before being told what they want or reposting another request? Cuase  it is really starting to bug the hell outta me.

I can't even remember the last time someone posted in requests, let alone even posted in requests first.

Ummmmm... what are you complaining about again? You certainly didn't help it with your insult... >.>

The request board "one-post" rule is an official rule. If anyone says that the "one-post" rule applys anywhere but that board is an idiot, and should be ignored.

Doesn't mean it still isn't useless and easily bypassed, making it not only ineffective but just a burden on people trying to get help, as well as spreading the false-ideal that we are "too good" to help people we don't know.

well it still stops alota "one time posters" from abusing the time and kindness of the help. So even if it stops one person. It's not useless. It's true, there ARE ways to bypass it...but like I said. Even if it stops one...then it's not useless.

Almost every forum has a way to draw and keep users. I think it promotes forum usage and ups member awareness. That's why people like me, Ghostclown, Saikar and DF are in power, and not you.

I recall something being said about quote posting being spam. Or something.

Having said that:

I think that's like the coolest thing a mod has said. Just ignore the part where the sentence itself is missing something and thusly doesn't make sense.

I do think most n00bs here are idiots.

Why?

OMFG FRSIT POST MUST B IN TSTNWELCUM BORD OMG LOZL NUB!

****ing die bitches.

About complaining about requests, it's on EVERY ****ing SPRITE BOARD. First post may not be a request, to avoid one-time posters.

I think it's funny where you see some guy
"OMG, I'm so sorry! I was totally unaware that my first post, under all circumstances, must be in Test and Welcome! Well, never you mind, professional forumers, for I have deleted my first topic, and made a new first topic in Test and Welcome! Now, and only now will I make a topic in requests. Thanks again, people!  :bend:  :bend:  :bend:"

And then we never see them again.

I didn't post in the test and welcome board either.

Some people that stick around here are worthless leechers that can't do anything, at least those leechers just come & never return.

When I used to do crap for people, hell I can't remember seeing any of them, and they had a good amount of posts. Not why I stopped doing stuff, but yeah.

Yeah. Like GC said, that rule only exists in Requests, and it's only backseat mods like yourself, BIA, that think otherwise.
Title:
Post by: BlackIceAdept on January 25, 2006, 02:50:05 PM
I'm not being a backseat mod all I'm saying is that the people who have been doing requests have gotten a little more lieninet then they were when I joined nearly a year and a half ago. (trust me I remember my 1st mistake...)
Title:

Year and a half's a bit of an exaggeration, you haven't even been here a year yet XD

Yeah, I agree with Razor...the process is exacly that, and itīll repeat itself regardless of that rule...

But still, a "rule" shouldnīt bother someone that much...

What about people who post in 'Test and Welcome', but ask for a request?
Title:
Post by: Meiscool-2 on January 26, 2006, 12:42:16 AM
It's a bitch to help people that ask for help constantly and never give anything to the charas workers.

Example: Noob

Takes: "Hey guys, I want resources custom made for me with great skill required and a small time frame to do it"
InsaneJP gets a PM: "Hi, I want you to make battle charas for me, do it like this and this, thankj00!

Gives: Annoying posts.

Example: Meiscool

Takes: The maturity out of charas

Gives: Coding help, mapping help, and pisses noobs off so they leave.

As said, that explains the rule.

Yeah... I mean... if it's against the rules, I know two girls that are going to jail for life.

But, I think you ment if it's against the rules to request and introduce at the same time. I would say it is, because you're not supposed to request in the test and welcome board, and you're not supposed to introduce in the request thread.

No, I was asking if sucking your lolipop was... well...
No, seriously, yeah, I was asking if Posting Request in 'T&W' was against the rules. But actually, what I really mean is... is posting and Introduction there, but asking for a request at the same time is against the rules. Cause lots of people did that. No one told them it was.

EDIT : Since the thread was locked, I had edit a post...

That's what my friend says when he loose in games.
''There was a lag!'' or ''Lags are against me!''
Strangely, when he wins, he don't talk except for saying things like ''Wow, I'm invincible with this weapon!'' or ''Wow, that was a nice shot from me!''

It's quality posters like this that are preserved while we exclude newbies asking for a sprite from a sprite-making community.

Besides, carmen, shouldn't we stay on topic instead of allowing spam like this to plague the topic?
Title:
Post by: carmen on January 26, 2006, 02:35:47 AM
well we aren't a SPRITE MAKING COMMUNITY.
>.< we're a support forum for people who can't sprite. duh.
I know what to do and when to do it. Thanks for the concern though <3
