My suggestion, watch movies. From Comedy to Drama to Horror. You'll get loads of ideas and mostly, they'll hump each other in a story.

Dude, Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Watch it. It has students, demons, a big story, action, violence etc.

In my experience, Student RPGs are BAD. But that's just me. *Mumbles something about cruddy FF8 characters*

Well you could try to have it set up like the main character is dreaming about random events in the game such as a dark ritual and as the day goes on he/she starts to realize that what was in the dream is actually happening to the world/school/university/ect. what ever you are thinking about using as where this will effect. Once you have some of the following factors you will only need to fill in gaps with your story.
1.where is the game placed?
2.where is this happening/will happen?
3.how disastorous is this if at all?
4.what is the main point?
5.who will it effect?
6.who did it(If anyone)?
7.How will they stop it or return things back to the way it was?Or can they not turn it back?
I find these to be the main points in the story.

ok, letīs go...
1. A fictious city, in our world (modern world).
2. The weird happenigs start all over town, but what interest us is that they begin inside the school.
3. People are being killed goddamnit! Call Maloney, letīs get inside that building!
4. MAin poist is: every character, GOd knows why, gets interested in things that gen get them in trouble...So the players want to find out the cause, since the murders are grotesque!
5. Everyone, if the "curse" is not stopped.
6. Thatīs what I need help with: who did it and why. I want to insert in the game the mafia (the rich one and the underground one, leaning towards cyberpunk) and people that are invoking through dark rituals, the creatures that are messing things up!
7. Same as above...the players will do it, but i need 6. to make 7. up.

Alright, here's an idea.
How about a good friend of the students happens to become possessed...but they don't know that they're possessed. Anyway, this possessed student got on the wrong side of a demon/happens to be a conduit for spiritual energy/something or other, and that's why they're possessed. Now they're murdering people in the most painful (and long) way possible to harness their spirit, so that the thing possessing them can become more powerful...or even gain entrance to our world.
Now, the good friend will be completely innocent at first. No idea of what's going on, because they don't know what goes on while they're possessed. However, as the story goes on and on, more and more clues point to them...which the players will either dismiss outright, think is an attempt to frame them, or whatever.
But then, at a crucial time...DUNDUNDUN...they catch them in the act!
But yea. Just an idea.
