Title: Is SEER open source?
Post by: M.C. Capt Picard on April 11, 2006, 01:21:48 AM
I would like to check the source code to make sure there is nothing malicious or subversive being done behind the scenes. Is this possible? What language is it being written in? Also, is the RM open source? Or should I ask that in a different forum, not here in the SEER one? I'm all lost on this forum, I feel like a secretary in a staff meeting.

SEER was a RPG Making Program started by an old member but never finished. It's not open source and not even released, so you don't need to worry about it.

What about RM2K / RM2K3 though, same questions.

All RM2K3 and RM2K are are game making programs. Click a button, this happens or this appears. It's nothing bad.

But no, RPG Maker is not open source. Although I doubt any one person could exhaustively examine such a large program for any trace of malicious code.
