I'm kind of trying out this whole charset editing business for the first time, and; well, failing miserably at it.
I'm trying to make this guy who doesn't wear anything but a helmet, a cape, and some kind of pelvic/abdominal armor, but I'm having trouble making his steps look fluid, even though I'm simply editing a template.
Can anybody offer me any tips or suggestions?

Well the helmet doesn't look bad, but it looks like you've shaded the skin completely wrong... take a look at how other charsets are done.
As for fluidity, maybe you just picked up a bad template?

well I think that what the thing was with the whole fluidity bit was that I copied and pasted over some of the moving parts. Anyway, I went back and shaded the whole thing again kind of in an RTPish style.
Anyhoo, here is the updated version thinger.

Cool, that shading looks a lot better ^^

Thanks for your help. I finally got a little something down, I also ended up changing templates up cause like you said, the one I was using at first was a piece of junk. Thanks again.
