This SHOULD have been done last week before swimsuit avatar week ended, but I left the half-finished sketch at home and only now recovered it, cleaned, colored, and shaded. Definitely better late than never though.
TRI-EMERALD (Alpha Force, Bluhman) - my favorite persecuted three-eyed psychic girl. She was planned to go into this image before swimsuit week even began. Thankfully Bluhman had her in his avatar so I had a good swimsuit model reference.
I wanted to give her sunglasses but couldn't think of a way to resolve how to handle her third eye.
All her sprites had a single gold pixel on her chest. I figured this was some sort of superhero symbol but couldn't find any reference of it, so I made my own. 1) there's three diamonds, in reference to her name. 2) they are arranged roughly in the same order as the eyes on her face, which I'm guessing is something she eventually becomes proud of once she gets into her superhero groove and 3) it looks sort of like an "A" for Alpha Force. Three meanings for a symbol of a girl with three eyes. I would have made it green, but it's not my character and I'm pushing it as is with the character redesigning.
PAIGE (Omega Seal, Ace of Spades) - if you claim to know who this is, you're probably lying. I had to half-squeeze this character out of Ace when I told him I wanted to put an OS girl in as a tribute.
She looks a bit bashful in this picture. Maybe she's worried that she exists even less than the rest of these characters since her appearance in The Omega Seal never actually happened? Don't feel too bad, Paige. Sai's here to give you some spotlight time.
Paige's outfit is very close to Kid's from Chrono Cross, except Paige doesn't have a convenient dagger to cover up the place where her sarong separates. Interestingly, Warxe/Ace didn't bother addressing this when making the Paige sprite. No really, take a look for yourself (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v319/SaiKar/Charas/Paige.png). I tried to stay as close to the sprites as possible, but some lines were not meant to be crossed. Publicly anyway.
SARAH C. (Charas Forums, Cerebus) - Charas's young mascot, looking slightly bugged-out as usual. Needs more Sarah C. works! She's the freaking symbol of the site, man!
I didn't really know what to do with her in this image. She doesn't have enough symbols or apperances in games or comics or anything for me to give her much identity.
SAI'KAR (Control of Destiny, SaiKar) - everyone's favorite gender-confused avatar girl. Sai is both easy and difficult for me to draw. Easy because there's now so much Sai stuff floating around that I have a million reference pictures. Difficult because there is so much Sai stuff floating around that the character's persona is very strong and even little slipups are extremely obvious, at least to me. I think I did her justice this time around.
I redesigned her swimsuit from my avatar image, making it considerably more conservative and practical. It's now something an actual person could wear without a few feet of doublesided tape holding it in place.
MYRIN (here and there, Midnight) - wow, don't you look angsty today Myrin? For the record, they grey tear-tattoo thing is part of Myrin's official character. I didn't make that up.
All in all, if I had to pick one of the six, I'd say Myrin came out looking the best.
GIRLY-WARXE (Warxe's twisted imagination, Warxe_Phoenixblade) - hey girly-Warxe, what does the scouter say about HOW MUCH THIS CHARACTER'S IMAGE HAUNTS MY NIGHTMARES?! I know, I know, I'm a guy with a female avatar too, but at least I'm consistent with it. I didn't just "switch sides" somewhere along the line. Though, if nothing else, it does add another female character for images like this.
I was real worried on how to handle Warxe's oddities like the crazy hair and eye... things. But I think it came out pretty well.
I'm thinking of maybe doing more of these for future avatar week contests. Yes yes, I will include male characters as well. It's entirely at my own whim though, and right now my whims are reminding me how many hours that thing took. I make no promises whatsoever. So we'll just have to see.

Hot.

its nice sai
i must say though, its ridiculously oversized...it could be 25% the size and still retain all the detail
that having been said....moar
-
Nice.
Not much else to say. It's great. Speechless.
-
The eyes are awesome, man. :)
And for the record, gender on the Internet is a moot point, really. If I want a Girly Warxe, then I'll damn well have a Girly Warxe, basic anatomy be damned!

gender on the Internet is a moot point,
Who knows? There may be some females that we've believed to be males this whole time. Maybe. I wouldn't know. Unless I'm lying. Which I'm not. Maybe.
(As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't work the other way around. I diminish such things as lies.)

The all look great. Tri-Emerald has a skimpy bottom. :P

I'm a sprite artist. To me, there's anything under about 60 pixels tall, and then there's infinite pixels above that.
Plus I wanted to make it wallpaper size.
that having been said....moar
I agree. I'm looking around for interesting themes for moar.
The eyes are awesome, man.
Interesting story about that. I'll tell you the details when I'm back to my room computer.

Yes, she does. I took that swimsuit design directly from Bluhman's avatar of her. All six swimsuits are either based on avatars or skimpied-down versions of their normal clothing.
-
I must admit: This has me worried...
-
Woah, very nice. Especially since you correctly guessed what Tri-Emerald's emblem/yellow dot was supposed to be.
The only thing that's bothering me really is that her hair looks a bit poofyish.
-
Oh Sai you're too awesome.

Not that I was complaining or anything. It's not a bad thing for chicks to have skimpy bikinis. :P

Avatar swimsuit week?
What is this. . . . eh, never mind. Nice banner, SaiKar.
-
For the record, I would have put you in had you been around at the time. You were on the original list but I thought it would be too weird to add you without permission.
-
And I assume I would be invisible in that portrait as well?
Having a ghost for an avatar is so transparent...
-
Upon eye contact with this piece, my boner touched the ceiling.
So yeah, good job.

You're not a Japanese businessman, are you? Cuz then that's really easy.

Don't go there.

Japanese as in "Godzilla"?
