This began yesterday as a free-time shooting tutorial but I got carried away making it a full blown mini-game.
-Fight a hourd of 15 zombies at a time.
-Use guns to plow bloody waves through zombies
-Us a short range Shotgun to lay way to monsters in rows of 3x2 sections
-Bullets that can miss thier target.
-Fast paced ammo conserving shooting.
-Pictures that show your guns and how much ammo they have left, and how many clips remain.

Nope completely different game, never even new there was a game called last stand.

Doesn't have any red or blue flashes, I made sure of it. BUT when you get hurt you screen does get grow more and more red with each damage you take. I hope this isn't bad for you fish.

I bet you could use the same system as this for boss AI in your game, Rahl. Having charset events control attack ranges. Am I nagging you too much? :P

I do use the same system in my game as is used in this one. But just for Raynes sword.
To add a little more excitement to the game I added a, difficulty system. The harder the dificulty the less hits you can take. Oh and remember if you don't get hurt the damage will go away, 3 seconds per level of damage to be more exact. And I have added a score system, kill all the zombies you can and post your scores here to try to beat everyone else!

I have a minigame in my game that is sort of like this. Except instead of killing Zombies, you kill an army of hundreds of soldiers on both sides of the screen. I'll play this later, and see how it's like :D

Ok I am actually still playing it.
Well after dieing soon on hard I switched to medium to get the feel between yelling COME GET SOME loud enough to wake my neighbors after getting the shotgun (finding out its not as useful as I hoped it would be) and blasting zombies in a row with the 9mm I have to say this is fun.
Though I have died quite a few times most from bugs though. Sometimes after getting hit you will get stuck in position you won't be able to turn or anything unless you get hit enough until near death though you can still wlak strnage enough. Sometimes I will come across a Zombie who doesn't die no matter how many times its shot and I will get like gang raped by a dozen zombies trying to get past that one when there no way to go up or down without dieing. The shotgun teases you by being able to see it at first but then it dissapears and ur left with 9mm sometimes I would get alot of shell boxes while trying to survive waiting for a another 9mm clip but no big deal. Also rare time I would shoot into nothing a Zombie on the other side of the screen would die. Getting frozen in place suck cause if there is a zombie behind u you're screwed cause there is just no moving up or down to get away so you just sit there frozen getting hit until you die.Thats the bugs I came across.
It is terribly fun to play : )
Think i'll go continue playing it now since I died with only 20 seconds left.

Yeah I've run across the damn invincible zombie before as well, the only problem is that I can't fin which it is in the script. Theres so damn many of them, and I could swear they're all coded right.
The shotgun is awesome, and the clip is only 4 rounds because its so devistating. And when you get locked into facing a single direction you just have to run around and let yourself get hit again, though this is a common problem with most ABS's. I may may a button especially for unlocking hero facing. The thing with random zombies dying though is that your bullet is an actual event and it dissipears reappears where it landed so fast that you can't see it but it still registers before being shot out of the hero's gun.

Do what I do with buggy enemies. Change the graphics up make two or three original ones and swap out, that way you'll at least no which one's aren't hm and which color category he's in.

The shotgun dissapointment was only because I expected it to take out more enemies, maybe it was my fualt for trying to live and blow them away at the same time.

I would like to anounce the next and possibly final (deciding wether or not I should put placeable landmines/ grenades things like that) version of Survive.
-Put in cheat code possibilities
-After each level you get a new code like infinite ammo 9mm/ infinite ammo Shotgun/ Golden Shotgun
-You can put these codes in at the beginning of the game.
-Your character will not get frozen in a single poze and more.

I think you should work on the zombie's sprite too. I bet you could make it better-looking. Right now, they just look like a green goblin in a bath towel.

I think you need a weapon that doesn't use ammunition for while you're out of ammo so you're not so defenseless when your cornered and outnumbered.

I'm probably not the best person to ask...I suck at shooters. I tend to freak out when surrounded, which is usually what I did here. So for people like me, it'd be great if you put a little more distance from the zombies initially in Easy Mode. I found myself having to restart several times because there was very little time to walk over to the gun, press 1, then get into a good position to defend myself before being mauled. I also had issues with zombies spontaneously generating behind me. D:
It's certainly a cool idea, and I love the execution. I couldn't get past the first level after like 20 tries (yeah, I know), but I may try again. I hope you have more chances to take advantage of the terrain in later levels, because that seems to be the key to surviving.

Fun, and also a pretty tight system you got here, Rahl. I do have a criticism though. I HATE the respawing system. HATE HATE HATE. I don't really have an alternative. Maybe they could come in from a respawn point? Maybe jump down into the pit from the ledge? Just any kind of warning you know.

Oh yeah I remember that. I liked how I could line them up and take them out with one shoot killing four at a time, but then they'd just spring up out of the ground and I'd be all "Holy ****! Where'd you come from?!" Also can you send me the script you used for respawning? I'd like to see it.

The sword *scythe* helps but I gotta agree the spawn is very deadly/annoying at certain times other times I don't mind it though.
So I can deal with the respawn.

Oh yeah the scythe was epic useful in terms of functionality, but the animations kept bugging up on me. I'd go invisible permanantely or wouldn't go invisible at all.

Also now the scythe animation has been fixed, so no more dissipearing. And when a zombies respawns, right before it does so a hand will pop out of the earth to let you know to get the hell out of the way.

I just found one the Shotgun amo is messed up sometimes even when loaded it shows empty and when empty it shows loaded.

There's a bug in the movement tracking. When I run into a wall, the weapon and ammo positions are thrown off.

Thanks alot I actually got it back out and was playing it again today and have been considering expanding it. It was originally a small project to direct my attention from my main game POR. But its very possible I will add more in the future.

That's what i thought when I played it. I mean your shooting system has more range capabilities than Warped does and you have a wonderful respawning system. You don't even realy need all that much of a story and adding levels would increase game play.

We not do both? Have a monster kill counting system that awards you with points for killing zombies and then give them the ability to spend these points on things like upgraded stats and abilities. If you decide to develop Vayne's past you could have him have a journal with all the pages torn out and have option of collecting them instead of making his story the most important thing and smothering out the arcade feel.

Lately playing some Left 4 Dead, and Red's new game has given me newfound inspiration to expand on this game as manyof you have asked for, and well I'm beginning work on this again today. But this time there will be more zombies than ever before. I have already in a short time scripted 5 more zombies into the game making for a total of 20 zombies! There are more to come as Im going to be scripting atleast 5 more today. 5 may not sound like alot to you but trust me ittakes time and patience to script each one. So give me a shout and tell me what you would like to see in the new Survive exansion pack.

I never was very good at horror stories, if you hadsomthing in mind fish it woulde great if you'd email me with some ideas. As for levels and upgrades and things of that sort I'll have to see what I can do and what everyone else would think of it.
On another note thier are now even more zombies scripted, there are now 25 scripted tested and fully functional zombies for you to plow through. Though I probably wont release an expansion beta until I have a bit more done, don't worry extra zombies isnt all I have in store.
On of my latest ideas is profiles: Where all of your upgrades and weapons and things are stored in your profile, as well possible medals and level selection.

Believe it or not I have spent just about every free second since I got out of class around 4:30 today developing the level selection menu and its still notcompletely done. Though I have got some time consuming scripting out of the way, like locked levels, scrolling, drawing all of the graphics by hand, and completing how the story will play out in my head.

Well as far as the story goes, the way its going to play out is like this:
-Instead of roaming around all over the place and advsncing in the story the only ACTUAL gameplay will be fighting, there may be a few cutscenes here and there most likley a begginning and endng cutscene, but for the most part most of the story will come from Vaynes journal, an exerpt from which will be told at the beggining of each level.
This will hopefuly satisfy both those who want a story and those who just want to get down to the fighting. Thse who just want to fight can just click through each journal entry as fast as they please, and those who want story can read it. Let me know what else you would like to see in this game.
