Dragon Fantasy: Venaitura
This is an epic tale involving four youths and their struggle to bring down a power-hungry man bent on the total annihilation of the demon race. Lead by an overwhelming display of both fear and madness, the self-proclaimed "Dark King" has given rise to the dreaded fortress of Venaitura in order to exact justice against the grotesque and pale-faced monstrosities of the Dark World. However, things are not as they appear...
Accompany Aaron, a young and local hero, along with his sister Buima; Reynold, Aaron`s stalker; and Fern, a wanderer on their quest through the dreaded fortress in an adventure that may have a deeper meaning than first implied.
Fight against hordes of monsters, solve the mysteries of the dark palace, and collect items to gain stats all the while inching closer and closer to the final goal: the Dark King himself! Will Aaron and his group of unlikely heroes manage to overthrow the Dark King and bring salvation to the Demon race? Only you can decide!
Main new features:
-High-quality MP3 tunes that add a certain flair that can't be replicated through MIDI's and NES-esque music.
-No more Leveling up! In this game you BUY your stats from an Item Salesman and choose which stat you wish to increase! Choose wisely...and carefully!
-No random encounters! Touch-encounters are in! Woot!
-Deeper storyline. Experience a much deeper story than any of the other Dragon Fantasies before it!

Oh I will. I must say I've enjoyed all or the others that I've gotten to play so far. You realy bring me back to the days wehn FF1 and DQ were my all time favorites. I just hope I don't have to remove too many flashes -_-;;

Well, if you're looking for some type of NES clone in this game you may or may not be slightly (or greatly, depending on the type of person you are =P) disappointing. Do not let the graphics alone fool you! It may look like an NES game, but it feels much different. It's as if you...say...sort of fused some NES, SNES, and PS together but just gave it all the look of an NES game. I wanted to try something different this time and came up with this.
Oi! And remove too many flashes?

Oi! And remove too many flashes?
I get seizures from them....@w@ Also sounds like it'll be fun. I'm going to go try and download it again,as my internet is slow and if I download anything it knocks me off MSN. -__-;;

I haven't gotten far. It's really good though. :)

I'll have to check it out later. Though the stat system is a little...meh...from what you described. I actually enjoy leveling up, but whatevs. I will download it when I'm not at school! ^^

I kind of got sick of the "fighting monsters to level up" idea. Yeah, this one isn't all that much different, but it adds something different to the game that sets it a part (at least a bit) from every other game out there that requires you to Level Up by gaining EXP.
Anywhoo, this game did not really receive a lot of attention. It is kind of odd, actually, because I found it to be one of the better NES-esque games that I have made.
