Post by: Grandragora on October 28, 2004, 06:29:50 PM: I'm not going to be making an 'official' website for this project, but if anyone feels like knocking one up, post a link here and I'll be happy to take a look, comment and generally be happy.

The reason for not making an official website is twofold.

1) I haven't done enough myself to actually warrant an official site.

2) I'm a hopeless web designer.

If anyone wants to design an 'official' site, just make up the site and tell me you'd like it to be the official one. I'll take a look and decide whether it'll be suited to being 'official'. Of course, the official site gets first access to all updates, info and screenshots.

Post by: Frosty on October 31, 2004, 05:03:32 AM: I could maybe give it a try since i am myself a web designer, but however, i odnt knwo if i coudl keep it updated for my whole lifetime ;) but i knwo i could make something nice, but you would have to tell me what you need/want for the site (example: naviation elments, website divisions "like where you want the navigation and the content part" and also, what type of site you want it to be, html/iframes, php, a litle interactive, exetera)

anyway, tell me what you think i need ot know, and il reply when i have the time to ...
wich is pretty much whenever i come online..

I have limited experience in web design, and asking me to dictate it is probably not the best ideas. You could always make a mock-up and then show me it for approval before you get down to the nitty-gritty stuff. It's up to you really.

Joking aside, yeah, there is no banner yet. You're welcome to get someone to mock one up for you, because I'm not going to be looking for an official one for quite some time yet.

for layouts, type in the words "Free Layouts" in google or yahoo.. surely you'll find loads of layouts to choose from. i found that out shortly after i made my homepage.. lol..

for add-ons, just go to http://www.htmlgoodies.com or http://www.dynamicdrive.com i only go there for HTML tutorials and anti-right click scripts but the list of goodies are sweet.

tho i would recommend Notepad instead of MS Word because in Notepad, you can do anything. C, HTML.. plain old texts.. etc.. :D

Dreamweaver or Homesite, maybe even frontpage(never tried it) would be the best options if you don't know HTML.. just click, customize and reconfigure.

btw, i use notepad and notepad only!

word and frontpage is for newbs and makes completely crappy webpages. If you dont want to hurt anyones feelings i might suggest just saying that "if you are using word, or frontpage then you shouldnt even attempt to make it" because when you see the result you probably will :p

PS: i got all professional with frontpage and word and actually took time to learn them so i know how limited they are. If you are so lazy just use dreamweaver. I also know html, css, php, java, actionscript, and javacript just incase you try to prove me wrong.

~I mean this all in the lightest way and no offense is intended. Prove me wrong please, but i think we were doign word and frontpage websites in 6th grade :|
