Error exception c00006 is an error in Rm2000 and 2k3 That gained a lot of unpopularity in this forum. It is mostly accociated with the maker's corruption usually with files gone missing or database and map-tree failures. You usually see it when you try to do some sort of normal operation in both programs. More errors with random numbers and letters pop-up usually in the database's tabs when this first one occurs (except for cause #2).
It also happens when you try to do too many operations at once.
1. Fu.cking up your database by putting non-rtp resourses into your project's folders rather than using the resource manager.
2. Hiting the test play button more than once at a time. (I did this today. Also F9 key is test play also.)
3. Your maker was corrupted to begin with. Get a new one!
Now, if this can be a stickied or put in a special area so everyone can find it it would be great so the poor noob won't get flamed for such a common error. I'll update this as I find more causes for this...
To fix
1. Delete the new files you put in those folders and import them properly.
2. You could also get accociated errors where the whole database has errors and you only have your "home made" additions in it meaning, all the RTP dissppears. This may or may not be good thing depending on the person (I'm talking about you RTP haters) but anyways to fix:
Go to your Rpgmaker2000/2003 folder in your hard disk and copy all the rtp back into your project folders. Note: Its not a good idea to do this with new resourses but its fine with the rtp.
3. Load rpgmaker2000/2003 and go to your database. Go to battle layout (I found this one with the least error mesages popping up) clicking off all the error messsages you get with a database crash. Hit apply in the tab window and volla! you have fixed your database!
Note: This only works for your database itself. Your map tree is different from this.
Note2: use the RTP in the enterbrain folder if you have it. You may not have all your RTP in the RTP folder in the main directory. This is what may have caused your error.
Note3: When you start a new project your database will be corrupted form the start from the first time you got the error. Because of this it may be the maker itself.
Note4: Contrary to naysayers belief about directly putting new resources into the project's folders doesn't do anything to your database. You just got lucky and sooner or later it will happen to you. You just set a time bomb and it may explode.
Ways to know when you have database crash or failure:
#1. Your RTP charasets in your events go missing (turn blank and colored black) on map.
#2. Your chipsets turn black and dissapppear (RTP and maybe imported). This may also be map tree failure and corruption.
#3. You get tons of error mesages when you access your database.

First of all, you should explain what "error exeception c00006" is or does, partly because the reader may not have the same translation as you. Some translations output errors as a series of question marks.
Secondly, I will testify that point 1 does not harm your game project or the program itself. As long as you set the transparent colour with another program (such as photoshop, UFX, etc.), everything works perfectly fine.
