(If you wish to play the first ONYX, you can find it
here
.)
Please leave honest comments. Honesty is the key to life, it makes us all happy people. HOWEVER, please don't bash me. Not everyone can be talented game makers like yourselves, so just take this game for what it is and not what it "should" be. Constructive criticisms are welcomed and encouraged, but not flames. If you're gonna flame, please press the "X" square at the top of your computer screen.

CREATOR'S NOTES:
Generally speaking, the response to the first Onyx was positive. Originally a sequel (or any game, for that matter) was not planned after Onyx 1, but 3/4 into finishing it, I started to come up with ideas that could potentially expand the story and strengthen it. So lo and behold, only a couple weeks after finishing the first Onyx, I started the second one. Not trying to pimp my upcoming game out (yeah, right), but really, this game is on a whole different level. If you liked the first one, you'll like this one even more, and if you hated the first one, you'll be pleasantly surprised by this one.
-----------------------------
STORYLINE:
The game's storyline continues directly from where the first one ended. The game focuses on EVAN SELWYN, the slightly UTR party member from Onyx 1. With the help of nine other young warriors, Evan succeeded in destroying the Onyx, not only saving Allumia and Earth, but dimensions all over. After returning both worlds to normal, Evan has moved on with his life. He settled down with girlfriend CHLOE ANDERSON, and remains close with old friends ZEDEKIAH CAMPBELL and VICTORIA TAYLOR. Between the fame and the money, Evan's life has been perfect....until recently.
Three months ago, a series of cult-related murders began taking place all over Allumia, beginning in Trace Avenue, and rapidly spreading throughout. In Reyme, missing teenagers are found dead and many more are being kidnapped, with little clues as to who is committing these crimes, and the motive behind it.
Meanwhile, on Earth, lately JADE LUAN has had a nagging feeling that something is not quite right. She cannot quite put her finger on it, but she believes that her world is "missing" something, as if something was purposely removed from it. She feels that her eyes are decieving her, and while friend and former ally NICOLE SILVER feels the same, she chooses to ignore it.
In Allumia, Evan, Chloe, Zed and Vicki decide to see Enzan's yearly talent show. Once there, Evan is attacked by a strange pale-faced teenager, who claims to know him from long ago. Suddenly, Evan sees flashbacks of a "teenager in red", however he does not remember meeting such an individual.
The pale-faced teenager runs off, and not before long, demons begin appearring all over the world. Pieces of the Onyx resurface, once again becoming an object of pursuit for many supernatural forces. Forced out of his comfort zone, Evan is pushed into the leadership position. However...things are now different. If the Onyx is regain shape, its power will increase tenfold, the worlds will merge to form Vereor, Genna and Baal will return to life, and a powerful entity, said to be the "true" creator of mankind, and will be released from his cage, and will regain control over the reality he originally created.
With all of this on his plate and more, is Evan truly strong enough to stop this? Furthermore, where does the "teenager in red" come into play, and his pale-faced counter part?

OTHER STUFF
~This game is an improvement over the first one in just about every possible way. Shorter dungeons, lowered encounters (I can picture complaints about not fighting enough :p), more interaction, better dialouge, better storyline, ten times the amount of extra stuff...everything. Players who enjoyed the first Onyx should enjoy this one even more.

I should've included this earlier, but it had just come to my attention...
No, you DO NOT need to play Onyx 1 to understand this game. Yes, being a direct sequel, playing Onyx 1 would definitely be to your benefit, but the important details are explained (and quite early) in the sequel. So no, you would not be confused by Onyx 2's story if you have not played Onyx 1.
Onyx 1 and Onyx 2 are great when played in order, but both could definitely could work as stand-alones.

Looks good. I liked the first one, but it was a bit glitchy. let's hope that you improved some with this game.
I like the custom faces, though they would look much better with some shading. Regardless, I'm interested in playing this...

The maps of the insides of buildings look good to me, but I suggest brushing up on the outdoor and cave ones with some more detail and filling in empty space. I think you should use more ledges and such. Try not to make things so flat.

The first Onyx was actually my first completed RPG Maker game, so not surprisingly, it's also my weakest. :p
This game is leaps and bounds better than the first one.

Hey, someone just warned me about an error in the game. It's been fixed, so if there's anyone playing this (here), simply re-download the game and carry your save files over.
Sorry for the trouble.
