Go to the Services tab, check the box "Hide All Microsoft Services," and look to see if there are any third party services running that you don't want to run. If there are, make sure to set them to disabled so they don't automatically start up. (You may want to uncheck Hide Microsoft Services and go to disabled the Search Indexing service but in my experience you don't gain much from this). Then go to the boot tab and again look to see what you do and don't want starting up on boot. Click Apply (To be safe), OK, and reboot. That should help with third party tools starting up automatically.
