My first post in a while lol. Sorry major login problems. But in any case, This game I'm making for RPG XP.
I shall avoid giving away too many spoilers as a writer I enjoy it when the player(or reader) gets a nice surprise, or that rush of anticipation.
A seal older then Earth or even our galaxy maintains, contains the plane of mana, allowing us to live normal lives. The Seal's guardian (narrator) brought the seal to the peaceful earth so he may relax. Such events like ghosts and physics are explained by the released waves of mana that the seal often produces. The story when a man, named Ragnarok, somehow cracks the seal allowing much mana to escape into the world. Now magick is possible.
The main story is a grand team tournament set up by Ragnarok, the tournament is designed to test the might of the new magick wielding warriors. Only rule is, stay in the designated arena and disable your opponent. The tournament is set up like this. City/village/community/town rounds fight for the position in a state/province rounds. The State/Province rounds fight for a position in the Country rounds, the country rounds fight for one of the seven positions of the continental rounds, and the final continental rounds fight for a chance for apprenticeship to Ragnarok and the only chance to get near him. So you and up to eleven others join your team and enter the tournament, although your in for a different reason then the others, your reason is to destroy Ragnarok and reseal The plane of mana, which is later known as the Genesis of Mana.
Of course much more then mere tournament battles, it's needless to say that many battles on the side or twists shall occur. The Storyline is pretty dynamic and complex. Many smaller side quests (optional) give further insight to the character's personality and history as well as maybe a good item or technique. AS of right now the only issue is the ending, as it ends too quickly, however I'm working on that.
Transendal Destiny begun off as a mere novel I had been developing in my mind. (I plan on writing and publishing Transcendent Magick as a novel version in my College years) A trilogy involving a modern society as our world is in 2005 however in the game I'm changing the setting to more a middle ages time. Much more then heroes and villains. I'm attempting to add as much realism to this as I can without it losing that fantasy game feeling. I tried using RPG 2003 but that failed and now I'm using XP.
If I can figure it out I may allow a Hero selection or Hero Creation script for a custom hero. If not then I'll use the default character Pat. I'll post his bio
Name- Patrick Sonata
Nickname- Pat
Age- 16
Bio- An adventurous young teen who lives an average life. Loved to learn about the unknown, whether out of fear or curiosity. His expertise in this field causes him to be one of the people who can utilize the mana and turn it into Magick after the Seal is released. He loves Sparky and has been dating her for over a year. His ocassional loopy almost idiotic at times personality is a facade to mask his intelligence. He has a sense of true justice and has tendency to do things his way when he see's something unfair and will stand for what he believes. He's been good friends with Symph and Aleey for a long time and can rely on them. He can do a bit of all fighting styles but can't outmatch an Archer in marksmanship and etc.
Name- Karen Zupiner
Nickname- Sparky
Age-17
Bio- A shy girl who's been dating Pat for a while. She can be quiet towards people she doesn't know but is energetic around her friends. She's very intelligent and is a quick learner. She hates trouble and rather avoid it altogether. She hates fighting but when forced she try's disable her opponent or use long range weapons or magick.
Name-Pedro Forte
Nickname- Symph
Age-17
Bio- A outgoing boy. Been friends with Pat since he moved near him. He's very intelligent and charismatic, although can be hidden by his energetic personality. More then willing to see excitement but can be lazy at times. Like Pat, prefers to do things his way when something unjust occurs. He'll do what he must to prove himself. He is a quick learner with magick and has good physical strength. His weapons of choice are enchanted pole arms.
Name- Alexandria Naloria
Nickname- Aleey
Age-17
Bio- A bubbly young girl who's been best friends with Pat for years even after Pat moved away. Her father works for the CIA so she tends to know whatever happens as soon as it happens. She's nimble and intelligent(only sometimes). She's rebellious to an extreme and hates being controlled at all. She likes to use long range weapons (Chakrams mostly) and uses nimble nin-jitsu (No not naruto style nin-jitsu, I mean the real version) to baffle and destroy her opponents.
Other charas-
Alexander Naloria aka Alex
Pat's best friend and and Aleeys sister. Died of a heart attack 2 years ago at age 15.
Jack jr. Naloria
Eldest of the Naloria siblings. Works with his dad in CIA. Selfish and hated by Pat
Jack sr. Nalora
Father of the Naloria siblings. Works for CIA and provides the team with supplies when his job allows. Is Pat's link and access to government politics. Relys on Pat's expertise to battle Ragnarok.
That's it for now, the other characters you have to find for yourself

I have this story as well as a second and third story fully pictured out in my brain. I'm still however more then willing to alter the story to improve game play so feel free to add recommendations. A comment I receive often is "This plot was taken from FF tactics advanced" Well I made the story before I played the game. But even after the story I made as much changes as I could to reduce cliche and keep it as unique as I can. Even so it has several cliches, although I hope that their minor or blended well. It's in very early stages of development. At the time I'm unable to produce an estimated time of release but I might be able to release a demo soon.

A Custom Title Screen in development
The final obstical before the Phoenix
Level 6 Spell Blazing Cacophony
(I shrunk the player battle sprites to make them look better)
Scenes from the beginning famous Ragnarok Speech visible from every reflectable surface
I Used RPG VX animations to improve the look of the skills
And If I fail at the custom title menu the I have a backup

Cell Phone party change
Training System (to learn skills and gain exp)
Highway gunmen minigame
highway swordsmen minigame
maybe war minigame
transformations

(So far, I might recruit help)
Meoix (me duh lol)-Overall story line and putting it together
Yina- Title Screen, Storyline suggestions
(Bound to be updated)
I like what I see. You've obviously put effort into this. My only beef is that you mis-spelled several common words, but hey, I'm an
English Major, what do you expect? Other than that, the VX resources work well, they add a stunning, fresh edge to things, and they
make the dull battle system look a little more alive. I'm not saying your battle system is bad, just that the default XP one is not...the best. Great job so far, altough a deeper look into the plot, like what the villian hopes to accomplish, and so on would be nice, but at this point it's not necassary. Keep up the good work.

Thanks don't worry, spelling is my worst flaw when it comes to writing I think, I'm going to have Yina review the game and she's a nagy college dictionary
. Hmm I'll edit in a bit more of the story line. As for the battle system, I'm having trouble finding a good script on the Internet. I'm very unfamiliar when it comes to the ruby scripting, as I'm more into C++, but If I must I may end up having to learn Ruby and make my own custom battle script. I agree with the fact that the RPG XP battle system is terrible.

Glad SOMEONE agrees with me. Send me the demo when you make it! I just recently released my game demo, I know what the stress of writing a game is like, and I have VX, XP, and 2003. I know about scripting for all 3. I have a script for XP here, if you want to check it out, i'll sen you the whole game so you can look at it.
