Hi,
I've searched the threads and I couldn't find any info on how to make your own custom chipsets. I know there's probably one out there but I couldn't find it so forgive me for asking what has probably been asked 10 million times. So....
How do I make my own custom chipsets by taking what I need from other chipsets?

Huh? What? This seems really obvious. Just open up the file in Paint and post whatever 3x4 sections from chipsets into a template for layer 1, and any sections for layer 2. (You should be able to tell which layer is which by looking at previous chipsets. Also remember to use something like
http://www.online-utility.org/image_converter.jsp
to convert to 256 colors. I recommend GIMP, however, because it has about the same functionality as Photoshop but it's free.

One tile in the maker is 16x16 pixels, just so you know.
Find yourself a Chipset template(looks like a chipset but just a lot of coloured squares).
Open it with paint or any other image-editing programs that allows control.
Open the chipsets you want to copy from.
Use the marker tool and mark the thing you want from one chipset to the template. Remember that they have to be lined up correctly(therefore the squares).
Once you're done do one of two things.
1. Save As "whtevernameyouwantittohave" and choose "256c BMP", the quality of the colours can be a bit arsed though.
2. Copy the full thing to a more advanced program like Irfanview or Photoshop. Choose the option to decrease the colour depth to 256c.
The finished file should be 480x256 and only have max 256colours.
The maker can only handle a certain ammount of colours and a certain size so it's kinda important. Otherwise you'll get an error message like "Invalid image size" "Invalid colour depth" "Unsupported image file"
And remember: NO Jpegs.
But Vlad_shadeu had some program some time back which allowed you to build your own chipset by choosing tiles from a list. No idea where that went though.

I cannot stress this enough. JPEG'd files cannot be reverted, and are stuck in that horrible mess forever.
