RPG Maker XP vs RPG Maker VX

RPG Maker Vx is probably easier for a beginner because it simplifies most of the things that are necessary for you to do. You can make a "Quick Event" that acts as a door, an inkeeper, a chest, and a teleporter. While in some users this inconveniences you, (as you can't customize the event as quickly as you would like) most new users would probably prefer VX for its extra functions, not to mention sharper graphics. Another aspect of VX that makes it easier to use than XP is its eventing commands. XP might need two lines to teleport, whereas VX requires only one. Lastly, Vx has eye-candy that XP lacks. The coloring is better in VX, not to mention that the pictures are sharper and more artistically done. VX is closer to anime, and XP is closer to manga. That way, most users would not need to import graphics to make a pretty game. All of these features reduce the time and experience needed to work on VX in comparison to XP.

Even though the above statement is pretty accurate, I find that the links at the bottom of the post annoying and declare you a bot.
To add however, VX's mapping is horrible to work with for anyone who legit wants to make a game.

RPG Maker VX dosent have directional passability which is probaly the only reason I use XP instead of VX.

Comparing how you map in VX to RPG Maker 2k - XP is like comparing an apple to a... blackberry. Two completely different setups. VX is made more for a beginner and the extremely advanced.

XP not VX. VX is too simple and easy to use. I like a challenge. I also hate chibi. In comparison VX just looks better with the animations and everything. GO XP
