Is it possible at all to patch RPG Maker to allow more sounds from MIDIs?
I don't know what the problem is, but it happens in both RPG Makers I've tried it in (2003 and VX).
Some sounds don't show up, and they are replaced with piano. This happened with the following instruments:
Electric guitar, chimes, timpani, church organ, choir vocals
I could really use some help with this.

Let the midi play through once, when it loops it should be the original instrument. That's as far as I can remember about the issue. No clue how to fix it though.

Is it possible that when the midi was created it had some patch issue in it? I know there is a bug with some versions of rm2k3 where it will make everything turn into piano sometimes, but I don't remember if there is a patch. I would try exporting the midi again, and see if that one also does it. Also, check the midi outside the program.

@Prpl_Mage
Yeah, but it totally ruins the feel of the song if it has to play through once before being what it is.
@AFL
It plays fine outside of the program. Is there a possibility of a track being too high of quality, like maybe having too many sound channels?

Well, most midis only can have 16 channels before sounds just start doubling eachother.

Hmm... The highest channel count I used was about 8... How troublesome. :\
Well, if it helps, here's one of the MIDIs (converted to MP3 for listening purposes).

The problems are the timpani, choir, and church organ. All of them turn to piano, and really ruins the feel of the song.

Hm... I've experienced problems with channel changing fonts after looping once, not the other way around.
What midi program do you use? It could be that rm2k3 doesn't support the sound bank the program uses. Try finding a way to use a general midi bank. Anvil studios uses the same sound bank as rm2k3.
