ok, trying to make my first game and hit an annoying snag!
i cant get it to import a picture to rpgmaker 2003. no matter how i manipulate it, rpgmaker says unssuported color. the damn thing is black and white with a splash of red. ive included it in the post im thinking maybe there is a fading effect im not seeing but im not good enough with photo programs to see. any hoo i need this pic or a similar one so i can make the opening cutscene so if some one can help me please do.

I made a fortune in toothpicks, but I lost it all in a fire.

It's because RPGM only supports 256 color images, and this one likely doesn't meet that standard. I'm sure that some people will start showing up in a minute to suggest some 256 color-conversion methods.

The picture is in a format that supports a lot of colours, meaning that you can open it and just make it 300 different shades of red if you want it to.
Files imported into RPGM2k3 (and the other I suppose) need to have their colour depth decreased to 256 or less.
Use a program such as IrfanView(it's free) or anything else to decrease the colours and then import it.
