which programing language (correct words?) would you recommend for people to use to make programs???

i'm now interested in making my own stuff, possibly a game. not online, it's an RPG one.

tell me the basics of what it takes to make a program (basics) and why did you recommend that program.

the farthest i went in programing is me making something for my project in RM2K3 in other words, i know NOTHING in this kinds of stuff. however, i like to learn from people i know online or personally.

Programming (real programming, i mean) is generally done in two ways: source only or using a RAD (as visual basic, for example).

The best, as it's the father of everything, is good old C/C++.
I've heard of satisfied users in game developement with Delphi too.

Anyhow, whatever you choose, you'll need time and good tutorials.

so it's C or C++ i should be hitting on, eh? i've checked a book in my school's library and i just looked at all the pages as if it was a blank wall. i didn't understand anything.. =\ but yeah.. i guess it takes time to do stuff.
