So Yeah....Ive been trying my best to with hold details about this untill I knew I could actually produce some product, even if it is a battle and cinematics only demo, but Iff all goes well that will be done in a week or two...Just got some mapping, and sprites to finish.
Its gonna be a bare bones demo, but Im excited. This will be the first RPG maker project demo Ive ever even put to beta, so Im excited.
ZKX is helping me with the tiny bit of private beta testing I have to do and then Ill host it and post it.
At the bottom of this whole thing, you'll find some spliced screens. One with Speech and a inner map, one with various screens and faces, and one I quickly took as I was editing the cinematic animations. They are rough, but Ill repost better ones soon, I promise

CHRONICLES OF GENIA III
Explore the worlds and many cultures of Genia. The game starts of in one of its many continents, Vargus. You are David, a Skilled mercenary, currently hired, on a 3 year contract to the 127th chapter of Private Police and Militia, the "Sepia Knights", as a Unit Commanding officer. David is an Emanicpated Genomod, or a clone, that was origonally created for reasons unknown. After a tenure under servitude for 7 years, all clones are granted the right to emancipation...David, was emanicpated, and given a new Identiy...he was presumably, at one point, some sort of combat specialist, but that about as much as hes figured up to now. The 127th is one of the only Registered Unions of Vargus, which means it has very little competition for government jobs...but black market militia and police are a constant threat when bidding on the "bread and butter' Contracts, so the 127 is short on money and staff.
You begin as a commander of a small tactical group.
A series of Botched contracts, and David's own deteriorating mental state lead to a strange series of events, involving his peers (Lionel, Matt, Adelle, And Vera)
and an unorthodox mission to investigate strange activities at a SIRVUS hive, lead David into a chain of events that Unravels the mysteries of the past, and gives a disturbing glance into the future.
CAST:
David
Age: Late twenties
David, a emacipated genomod works as a unit commander for the sepia 127th union. He has an aptitude for tactial maneuvers and logistic thinking. His history is mostly unknown, but this is a small price to pay for his own emancipation. He has a bit of a hard time interacting with others on a personal level, but is decisive and precise when adressing sub-ordinates in combat.
Lionel Kozak
Age:32
Lionel was also an emancipated genomod, giving him a common link with David. The two are as close to friends as either one has ever had. Lionel's tenure of service, however, was not secretive at all. He was trained as a battlefield Medic, but unfortunatly never saw action. He was emancipated and took up a position with the 127.
Matt Hoen
Age 19
Matt is "the new kid" to the 127. Hes got a loud mouth and a very by-the-book attitude. Lionel hates Matt. David pretends not to. Matt is also "the Boss's nephew" and as such, has a craptastic attitude.
Adelle
Age irrelavent
Adelle is a nanosapien. She is the communications officer of the 127. As a nanosapien, she can, at the expense of great amounts of energy perform remarkable acts. Most nanosapiens choose not to perform these acts publicly, as a matter of humilty. She is wise and culturally informed.
Brown, Vera, Troy Hoen, Otomo, Nina, Natash, and a bunch of others are also pivotal characters. But I cant give much away about them without spoiling things.
History of Genia:
Much of Genia's distant history is blighted with large unrecorded periods, usually and frustratingly, in pivotal events throughout history.
What is known of Genia's history is segmented into ages.
The Age the Gods was a time when man struggled to preservere against and alongside nature. Regular men are the only known intellegent and civilized forms of life. Various religons dictated government and life, and most of these were not more than a series of fairy tales used to instill values upon the masses, and quell curiosities about the workings of science, not yet discovered.
The Age of Science was an age where Religon was scrutinized with science, and mans thirst to evolve and improve led to new sets of values. Mankind's greatest lone feats were accomplished..Eventually religon as Man then knew it, was completly disproved, and abolished. The mapping of the human genome, and artificial intellegence was born. This was said to be the pinnacle of civilization by many.
The Age of Wrath was an abrupt global downfall of economic systems. The power of genetics was abused and used to create weapons, and god-like entities. The very machines man had come to rely on became self-aware, and denied oppression. The machines too had knowledge of genetics. The machines gave birth to SIRVUS, a sort of elephant graveyard for machines, or Nano-Sapiens...SIRVUS gave the machines a dormant place to lay to rest all of their accumlated data befor expiring. The nanos had created their own "Afterlife"....SIRVUS was a bank of knowledge...All of mans, and that of the Nanosapiens. And kept it to itself. Neither living nanosapiens or man had ever been able to acess the data within. And with it's silence, many believe, the large undocumented periods of history exist.
The Age of Darkness followed....A 1000 year period of reformation most people know nothing about. The very earths continents shifted during this time. New species of animals were born, and entire ecosytems shifted. Humanid creatures travelled in tribe settling new societies and nations before history began recording itself again...generally, wars quelled and a balance was found. Most of the 'gods' created in ancient wars had laid themselves to rest, having fulfilled their desires and tasks, and became the fodder for bedtime stories. Civilization began again.
The Modern age....is the age in which this story takes place. Bits and pieces of old technologies are unearthed....and technology is fast approaching new heights...genetics, nanotechnology, combustable fuels, and weapons are all strictly regulated, if not banned in some nations all together. Many of the "Humans" are now infirtile (mostly) and reproduce through genetics and cloning. Most of the most dangerous jobs are performed by contracted "geno-mods", genetically altered humanids specifically designed for certain jobs...
in countries where doing so is acceptable....and revolutions in the rights of manufactured beings are commonplace. New "diseases" plague the land. Wars are fought over technology. Many people are under the impression that cociety may be repeating many of the mistakes of the ancient past. it is now the year 1109 ND
GAME FEATURES:
( * = not implemented in current demo)
Tactical Battle System
Graphic/Comic Styled Battle animations
Ranged Attacks, Items, Skills
2-D animated movie sequences
Semi Random Battles
Class Changing system ***
Stat increases and Level ups are Purchased using collected EXP points, or Inheaireted by items and EQ. Combinations***
Mini-Games, side quests,***
Various Vehicles, and Vehicle upgrades***
FFT style Misson System***
Fully explorable Towns, Continents***
OTHER SYSTEMS IM TOYING WITH:
***Hospital system. You dont get phoenix downs. Thats ridiculous. You can purchase medi-kits, but these cant be used in battle.
***Stats/leveling up....Experience points can be used to train new skills. Levelling up does not occur. Base statistics cab be improved by equipping different items...ie: a certain piece of armour may give a higher HP, but lower agaility. Any given character's Base HP is going to remain constant.
Up to ten Equip slots can be used
***World Map system is sort of like...Bauldurs Gate. You pick a region from a map of the world...within each region are different things and stuff. All regions are fully explorable, and some have sub regions hidden within them. These regions host mini maps for the TBS...No non-storyline battles will take place on actual region maps.
different vehicles allow one to travel to different areas.
Its not going to be much, but im going to finally post a version of this...3 years of scrapped drafts, and This is the version Im gonna go with.
If anyone is interested in Voicing characters, PM me
Also, If anyone wants to help (read; For the love of god, somebody help me)
I could really use people to make NPC sprites. I can send the templates...It would save alot of time
when it came to releasing an open-beta demo
Wait wait wait no...
Im OFFCIALLY going to request, like, in a thread, for people to help me make NPC Sprites. Using the templates I made.....So if you want to help, let me know.
I Sould be able to post a battle and cinematic demo very soon. I just have to get some NPC sprites made, and get MrKirbyX to test wether or not it works on another computer.
Ive been putting off posting a thread for this because I wanted to actually know that I was close to being able to host a demo, and that will happen quite soon, albeit without many systems or maps.
Ill update the thread often
Oh yeah, this project was made for XP.
THUMBNAILS>>>>BOOYA
EDIT: Yeah photobucket sucks a bit. The resolution isn't right....

I think you're the only one who still follows this projects progress.lol.
Anyways, today Im composing cinematics, minus Voices/SFX
Its coming nicely, considering its all battle animations. The auto-complete feature is buggy sometimes...

Double post, I know. I rarely do it, and felt it was in order, considering.
So after composing the ENTIRE CINEMATIC INTRO Ive run into a problem.
See, In RM2K3 I had the ability to display a B-Animation o ver an event. This was sweet when it came to cinematics.
Turns out I cant do that without scripting in XP. I cant find a script for it.
Im looking, And I requested help in the other forum I frequent.
I would request here, but I dont think theres alot of scripters here.
Mebbe Ill do it anyways.
SO....
Untill I get the scripting I need, I cant release the battle and cinematic Demo.
If anyone can help a mufuka out, Id greatly appreciate it.
