Hello, and welcome to my game thread for "The Hero's Struggle"
You are a Telekinetic Codenamed Mindslayer. All you know about your life is that you were found by scientists and put into a program to control your telekinetic powers. During this time the scientist also, with hidden agenda's, test serums to give regular people extraordinary powers.
You then set out on a mission of top secret importance when you become shipwrecked further west then planned. What is worse is that it seems some cruel person has erased your mind during the shipwreck. Awaken in Chalader to find that people with special powers are creating havoc around the world, and in Chalader 3 have been imprisoned. Could these prisoners help you remember your mission?
There has to be someway out of town!

Characters:
Mindslayer:
A mysterious telekinetic from an unknown origin. Found as a child his age is anywhere from 18- 23 as the story begins. Being a highly interesting specimen for his scientist upbringing, locked away from most of society until his powers were under control. Then he worked for the scientist gathering up special materials needed for experiments. After having his memories wiped, he seeks out others who are different like him, to help make sense of his situation.
Darkspeed:
A specially trained ninja with a unique bloodline. This bloodlines secret is super speed. Being from a secretive yet honorable clan of ninja special ops from the south, he is still young and on a spy mission in the north was arrested by the Chalader patrol.
Burns:
Adopted son of a noble family, his temper was a real problem. His eyes would light up like fireworks and things would start to burst into flames. After a heated debate ending up with some burn victims Burns was locked away in Chalader.
Damien:
Not much is known about this stranger. He cannot be hurt seriously. To the amazment of the guards capturing him, the beating, bruising and cuts on his body were gone before they could bind him. His age is unknown, although he seems much older then he looks.

The mini Booklet:
[spoiler]The point behind the game is that you are a hero with your
band of vigilantes. As such, you cannot steal items in the
game so no need to search everything. You are however able
to read books, more will be said about this later.
-Battle-
Now be mindful that in this game the challenge can be quite
hard yet it is very possible to defeat bosses. If you wait
too long the monsters will still attack you. There is a
glitch that sometimes happens in RPGmaker2003 that if you
are selecting an ability and die, when you are resurrected
you have no initiative and do not rejoin the battle until
damaged. Unless you fight a boss and lose, you don't get a game
over screen because in random fights Damien wakes you up and
retreats.
Abilities often do status effects and that is a key component
of your battle tactics.
-Basic Tactics in battle-
Mindslayer:Use your abilities to effect the opponents minds
to your advantage in order to prevent damage or possible
confusion/trance where you have them attacking other enemies.
Also use the Psychic Barrage power to reduce resistance to
psychic attacks.
Darkspeed: Darkspeed's speed is his key ability. The ability
to effect time with speed and ultimately space. As well as
those abilities Darkspeed has a High attack and is your primary
fighter who's damage abilities are based off of strength.
Shadow clones reduces enemies resistance to ATK based abilities.
Burns: Much like a Mage in other RPG's. Weak attack, but powerful
abilities that do mass damage. His key ability being fire and the
ability to hit multiple targets doing massive damage. Both Pyros
abilities reduce resistance to Burn's Abilities.
Damien: Damien's Key ability is regeneration. In combat if Damien
Reaches 0 Hp he will automatically revive. Damien also can heal
your team plus has some useful physical based attacks.
Share Blood is a key ability that allows your party to reg and
become a little more resilient to status effects. As well,
Damien's Reckless Attack and Assault reduces enemies DEF.
-Items in Battle-
Some items like potions, Energy Water, etc are 1 use items.
Equipped Items sometimes have abilities on them and can be used
in combat. Each starting characters accessory is their Powers.
Mindslayers-Psi Booster - Int Up
Darkspeed- Ninja Shoes - Disappear
Burns- Fire kin - Fire Shield
Damien- Regen - Regen Ability
Weapons and Armor can have abilities as well.
-In Game Items-
Most items are found in treasure boxes.
Ones that are not are; Magic Mushrooms and
Special Herbs(side quest) ===>keep an eye out for them<===
Books also appear in the game and give hints or history or are
just Titles.
-The Game-
Characters with faces tend to have a role in the game in someway.
Bars: The bartender is a good source of info.
Books: Clues, history and humor.
The Sage: Info earlier in the game.
Intro:
You start of as Mindslayer, without memories, in a strange town
where you quickly learn of the rounding up of people with special
powers by the Sheriff of Chalader. There has to be someone who
can help you free them.Explore the town and then rescue the
prisoners. The people of the town will have sympathy for you.
You can save anytime! It is important to save often!

Well, that's not very positive.
(Sorry, I'm just been at a leadership camp for 4 days and they drill positive into your mind)
I'm glad to see a finished game here. They are becoming more frequent lately. As Ed had said, your mapping could use some work, but don't worry, you'll get better over time if you practice at it.

Thanks for the positive feedback. I know that I am not good at mapping but I have always been bad at any kind of visual art. Although I absolutely love it. I am a musician and a writer so that is where all my artistic talents seemed to have landed. So at least I think I put together a decent storyline, and tried to keep from some of the more hero/princess style. And I guess for me, graphics has never made a game, it was always the story that did it for me. I guess I should have had someone else do the mapping.... but when you only have you, there really isn't much of a choice LOL
and yes this is my first real completetion of RPG maker game. Before I just fooled around with some friends making stupid pointless rpgs.
I am working with a talented artist on another game, but he is moving and I fear the game will no longer be anything I can help with.
