Sci-Fi AND Mideval RP!

Hi, I had an RP thread going on another forum, but it died, and I decided to remake it here. It's a sort of hybrid RP. I play a Sci-Fi character, who's ship has crash-landed in a fantasy magic and dragons type universe. So, here we go.

"Oh blamm." Schilcote said, as another antimatter shell whizzed by the cockpit of his ship. "Whiz, what kind of rouge ship has one of those cannons?" he transmitted to Whiz, one of his six robot crewmembers. "CLC is working... CLC reports that a fleet of Stephinian cargo ships carrying weapons was hijacked one Stephinian year ago. The attackers were identified as rouge forces. They seem to have powerful shield technology, our weapons cannot penetrate." Whiz transmitted back, over the advanced SPAAD communication network designed by Schilcote. "Allright. Turn engines to 120%, we might be able to outrun them." Schilcote transmitted. Waldo, the six-armed builder, machine operator, and microsurgeon, set the engine power to 20% overdrive. The ship's powerful reactor went above its idle parameters. "They are keeping up with us." Sensa, the sensor-laden robot transmitted. An antimatter shell hit the ship. "Ship's systems are going offline." Whiz said. "Emergency situation, engage Icarus device, random coordinates." Schilcote transmitted. A wormhole formed in front of the ship, and the Starship Rocinante was taken through to distant, unknown lands, transending space, time, and universal barriers.

"Altitude dropping!" Sensa said, just before the ship hit the ground with a huge explosion.

//ooc: Okay, I have to define my characters a bit. The six robots are Waldo, Whiz, Poet, Auda, Sensa, and Iris. They all have special traits that I will define later. Schilcote himself is an ancient robot and the ruler of the Stephinian Empire, the most powerful space empire in any of the known universes. Schilcote's ship, the Starship Rocinante, has been shot down by Rouge Stephinian forces and flew through a wormhole to the setting of this RP, a mideval setting with mages and wizards and such. Gunpowder has just been invented on this particular planet, to give you a perspective of the scientific timeframe.

((A question before I even consider joining this - several, actually:

Foremost, How does a dinky little rebellion ship subdue the flagship of the most powerful government in the multiverse?  Rebellions are made up of the oppressed and the criminal, not exactly the lot you'd expect to manage a successful ambush on a caravan, trafficking an anti-matter weapon.

Second, how does the same man too stupid to furnish his crew with any more than six robots, attain in that same lifetime emperorship of the greatest collective civilization in the history of interplanar existence - arguably the closest a man will ever come to godhood through physical means?

Lastly, unless Schliklop is going to take the role of a story-teller archetype, exactly how are any other characters going to compete with the powers the essential (HE-MAN) master of the multiverse will wield?  Remember, this obviously isn't exactly a conventional thing, that someone like an emperor personally see to running his domain.  That's what envoys, diplomats and vassals and the like are for - only in the most drastic of situations would I think the most influential man to ever be born would see to matters in the flesh.  Unless you intend to tell me that his strength is completely political and his body guards and military are his sole protection, I'm not buying it.  Or maybe he's a poorly written character, I don't know.))

Have you ever played 'Star Ocean: Till The End Of Time'? The plot becomes fairly similar to this in certain places. But, this is not a negative trait! Once you answer Obvious Sock's question I'll probably design a character.

It wasn't a dinky little rebellion ship at all. The Stephinian empire is the most powerful empire in the multiverse, it makes sense to me that the Rouge Stephinians would be the most powerful rouges in the multiverse. Combine that with the fact that someone screwed up when they assigned protection to some high-value freighters and you've got a force to be reckoned with. The imagined reason the rouges took down those frighteners is that someone messed up when they were giving out escorts, and then the rouges surprised them and took down what little protection they had and looted the guns.

The ship dosn't need a big crew. Actually, the robots are pretty much just along for the ride. As for Schilcote's attaining his position, see the next paragraph.

I'll give you his backstory, how about that? Schilcote was built by the Ancient Stephinians (the empire before the empire before his) as a military android. He was designed for a command role, about Kernel or General ranking in the US military. He's not heavily armed, all he has is a big slow-recharging plasma cannon and two "Merovia-iron alloy" sawblades that are designed for cutting metal, not flesh. The empire fell, and he bounced around the universe for a while in the ship that he was assigned (the ship and him were connected in design, the ship is made to support him) before finding the Stephinians, a couple trillion years later, being ruled by a cruel and oppressive government, which he started a rebellion against, causing a sort of cultural overhaul. He was forced into the position of ruler by the people (he didn't ask, they did) and the empire grew both culturally and technologically to the point where they are now. His power is mostly political as you said. He is still more of an adventurer than an emperor, and that is why he was flying in the wrong place at the wrong time and got shot down.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Also, the Middle Stephinians (the empire before Schilcote's) are based off of the storyline of the Rush song 2112. In fact, in the original idea he actually wrote 2112 and played it to start the rebellion, and the psychological energy of the rebels inspired people from all around the galaxy to be subconsciously inspired.

Oh, I guess I should explain the main center point of my stories (like Stargate and the stargate, or Star Wars and the Force). The reason that the Stephinians keep getting so powerful is that they have managed to harness the energy of rock music. It might sound silly, but I think it's a pretty good Sci-Fi concept. They use rock-and-roll to power their empire, and since its such an incredible source of power, they tend to expand greatly with their vast resources (it also helps that they are a pretty clever species scientifically). Since rock and roll music created their empire (the Aincient Stephinians invented it and tapped its energy, then the Middle Stephinians stamped it out, and Schilcote reintroduced them to it) their society pretty much revolves around it (the house of the Stephinian Empire is the Hard Rock Hotel, a five mile high guitar shaped building, and the Stephinian Battleaxe warship looks something like the giant flying guitar off of Boston album covers).

The Rouge Stephinans are all the druggies that were around during the Middle Stephinan rule (a high citizen is a happy citizen, especially if you're an oppressive dictatorship) and were subsequently ejected from the empire's territory after Schilcote took over. They're pretty much just a bunch of angry crackheads who would destroy the universe for another hit. They avoided the genetic modifications that Schilcote gave out to the pepole to make them more effective scientists (an important note is that Schilcote's Stephinians are not only sterile, they do not have reproductive organs, while the Rouges do).

I'm surprised government would still exist, this far into the future.  Hell, I'm surprised society as we perceive it now would bear even a semblance to the world of 6,000,000,002,009.

Why?  For any real reason, or just "because it's in the script"?

I'd expect a super-advanced government would be either some description of socialistic or democratic.  Because, I'm sure by then there won't be enough historical evidence to lead these beings to the conclusion that monarchy is irrelevant.

A possible excerpt from the religious texts of the time:

"And in their hour of need, he sent for unto them, the berserk rage.  Now, gods and men, they rose up from the ground, screaming like wild animals!  Such is the gift of absolute power!  No blade, nor weapon could harm them.  They killed men and horses alike, and all who stood before them died that day.  Hail, gods of war!" ~ ManOwaR 12:5-9

Am I to assume that the scientists of trillions years past were too busy with all else to perfect and eliminate the negative effects of drugs?  Did he have any motivation behind disenfranchising an entire facet of society from the most powerful empire in the multiverse, or is he just a dick?

They're pretty much just a bunch of angry crackheads who would destroy the universe for another hit.

Because THAT makes perfect sense.

Rulers put into position by the people = democracy. And anyway, the only problem with monarchy is when the good king dies, and his dumb a** son takes over. With Schilcote, you don't really have that problem. The reason the Middle Stephinian people put Schilcote in office was that he was the guy who kicked the arse of the previous ruler. Don't forget, these pepole were living for a couple thousand years under a goverment that did 99.99% of their thinking for them. They really didn't know what to do with themselves, so they said "Hey, this guy looks like he knows what he's doing, let's build him a giant castle and make him tell us what to do!".

Uhh... Yeah. Pretty much. All though I have no idea who "ManOwaR" is.

As for scientists curing drug addiction, scientists weren't allowed. It's like in that one episode of Dr. Who, The Pirate Planet. It goes something along the lines of Romana talking and the guards saying "X is forbidden" as a response to every sentence.

You're very good at perpetrating a very unwelcoming, anti-drug atmosphere, by the way.  It's generally a bad idea to forward your political stances in a roleplay, I remind you.  Least of all when you're as misinformed about the nature of drugs and addiction thereof as you seem to be.  On the other hand, if you were at all good at being subtle, I wouldn't mind at all your apparent anti-drug message.

No matter.  My questions have been satisfied and I can say with a good deal of conviction that I'm honestly not interested in any direction this plot is going to head - not even counting the idealogical message of it.

No matter.  My questions have been satisfied and I can say with a good deal of conviction that I'm honestly not interested in any direction this plot is going to head - not even counting the idealogical message of it.
