If anyone has bothered to click on the image link in my signature you may already know what this thread is going to be about, if not, well I felt I might give this a shot by also putting a bit about this here as well.

History:

This series began in its infancy as an idea for a DBZ fan-fiction back in 2004 when I was only in 8th grade. I grew out of the whole fandom and quickly reworked all the ideas I had into something wholly original and based off of nothing else as far as I knew at the time.

The series was originally going to be called "New Heroes of Japan", but seemed too anime fan-boy of a title to even get any interest of it if it was to become a professional work, as I tend to think far ahead in advance.

It was then named Elemental Hero Hirohito (EH^3) in 2005, which is where my screen name on the forums stems from (surprise!) but it sounded too similar to those Yugioh characters The Elemental Heroes thus an unoriginal name yet again.

It got changed again in late 2006 to Legend of the Hero, or LotH for short. Which was better but I had someone comment that the acronym was stealing from or similar to a demon lady's name from some other fiction or intellectual property. So I sought to change the name yet again.

At long last in 2008, the name of the series had its final change and it stuck. It was named Esgardum Legends and the plot had a drastic change to go with this new title.

About the Story itself:

Esgardum Legends is a Fantasy and Science Fiction blending on a medium and soft scales for both respectively. The reasoning for this is that the story revolves around two worlds, our Earth (2004 A.D.) and the mysterious and mystical Semathia (a medieval-style world).

The plot revolves around the Esgardum, an artifact of limitless and destructive power, which that for whomever has it can make their dreams realized and also be able to recreate their world in their image by either destroying the former or creating a new one elsewhere. The word Esgardum alone means, rebirth from destruction.

There is also a certain ancient being or entity that seeks this power for itself no matter the cost.

Characters:

The storyline is full of soon to be memorable and hated characters when it is finished, that I must believe. As for now, I'll let you be the judge with artwork drawn by me and simple bios provided here. The Official Esgardum Legends Wiki has full bios and pages on everything in the story's universe. Be warned though, it is rife with spoilers. Here I'll try to be discrete. Also Artwork is updated as I have time to draw better versions of each.

Simple Bio: Akihito is a teen that was forced, along with his family, to leave his home as a hostile nation attacked his homeland of Kagemarou. He is seeking answers to the sudden aggression of this rogue nation and what it has to do with him as he's become a target. He has a twin sister named Asami.

Small Bio: A seasoned veteran of the Kagemarian Imperial Army, he took to the life of a fisherman in the village of  Sakura after fighting in the last slave war 20 years ago. When his village was attacked by this new army, he decided to protect his family and flee the country as a refugee rather take the option of going into war again as you are only forced to go into service once in your life and all other tours are optional in the laws of his nation. Despite this, he vowed to return to his homeland and rebuild his village.

Small Bio: This beautiful woman is the mother of Akihito and Asami. An Aurapath stops aging after adolescence thus she retains her youthful beauty when a human would not at the same age. She cares deeply for her children and like her husband, is a powerful Aura user and can hold her own in a battle. She, her husband and daughter part ways from Akihito and seek a ship, while he takes it upon himself to seek answers to why their nation and village is being attacked.

Small Bio: Masako was once a beautiful Shrine Maiden to her Goddess Talia, but that changed when the shrine was destroyed and desecrated by the invading force and its inhabitants massacred or taken away. She hid in a storage chest for priest's robes quietly crying and wondering if she'll survive. She was found hours later by Akihito and his friend James Fitzpatrick and joined their cause as she decided to seek revenge for what the invasion force done. She doesn't like being set aside and told to stay out of a fight because of her gender. She will protect her friends at all costs and not take no for an answer if told to stay out.
