Dentverse: Origins

Okay so before we begin a little clarification. This is not Warped. This is sorta the "true" way Dave's adventures are supposed to begin, the true canon origin. Hence the title. It's also been heavily edited and re-writen and is sorta still in the process of it on my DA so be patient with me, please as will now endeavor to explain what makes Dentverse Origins eveyry bit as good, or better, than Warped:

Dentverse Origins follows the same idea: David Dent is from the Main Star Wars Galaxy but his homeworld is of my own creation called Luminara. This world is a bustling trade center and the home of many a Freighter pilot, which is what Dave has always wanted to be but with his family running the family freight business. He is passed over for promotion and doesn't even have his own ship. That all changes when he gets a chance to prove in simple delivery to a far off system.

 He gathers his crew and launches but halfway there he's attacked by pirates!! His YT-2400 may be top of the line but the pirates out number him and soon it looks like it's all over until suddenly a vast wormhole opens up and sucks the ships down it. Once awake Dave opens his eyes to find the pirates and most of his crew have vanished withotu a trace but he has not time to worry about that now. The ship is on fire!!

Once he puts out the flames and sends a distress call it seems all is well until he checks the start charts and...wait that can't be right. None of the stellar phenomena correspond to the stars he knows. After a bit of tinkering he discovers the galaxy no longer looks the same. What has happened? Well he doesn't get much time to find out as he's soon confronted by two massive battler cruisers who tractor his nearly destroyed ship into their hangar bay....What will become of him? Who are these mysterious, and very shiny new adversaries? Find out in....

[Features]
Understandable fun story which the characters bother to explain before cracking inside jokes about it at the player's expense and a game that also doesn't take itself too seriously to be enjoyable.
Travel between stars and unlock new destinations all while helping Dave in his quest to return home as well as pick up a unique cast featuring robots, aliens and even ...moogles?

Warp Coridors: Dungeon like puzles where your puny vibrosword or even mighty ligthsaber are useless. Only your skills as a pilot and your crew can get you out of these strange phenomena alive.

Ship-to-ship, the turn based version. Before you "aww" cause it's not a Galaga-like ABS let me tell you this: you can't beat every enemy in this mode using simple "buy bigger equip" or "level up= I'm stronger than the boss lol" type stregeties. It's mostly based on this:

Crew Abilites: As you aquire new party members you can assign them a position on your bridge in order to give your ship an edge on the pirates, monsters and stellar phenomena that WILL try to kill you as you fly from exotic world to exotic world. Some are obvious like Dave's "Bond" which gives the ship more speed and def but others are more subtle like Rusty's "Bypass Warp"
which allows one to exit a coridor on the other side with no penalties. Abilites also change depending on position based on the positions on the bridge.
Example:

Captain: The pilot for tyhe Dewback. Usually determines endurance and flight ability. Note assigning a inexperienced pilot will reduce actuall move speed in Warp Coridors.

Gunner: The weapon's officer of sorts. Mostly in charge of making enemy ships go boom however some characters can alter the types of weapon's that are availible in the ship's "Skills". This is also true for

Sceince Station: Doesn't seem important till you encounter something like rogue black hole or a having to avoid an ion storm which can't be blasted away and must be through through. Also depending upon how bright they are you can half power consumption or use non-damaging weapons, like the EMP Wave Cannon for example, to subdue your foes. Also may unlock special side quests.

Navigator: The person in charge of ploting hyperspacial jumps through the Warp Coridors or finding new locations on the map. Put the right person in charge and you can find hiden areas. Though if the wrong person is in this chair it can actually increase the time needed to clear a Warp Coridor.

Mechanic: This role is VITAL to the ship's life expectancy. Assigning a god mechanic will increase power to weapons, sheilds and even allow special "Tactics" to be unlocked that can help out ibn a pinch in battle or bypass certain situations that even the sceince Station may be powerless to help out with.

A final note on crew abilities: You can not assign crew during battle. It must be done before disembarking onto a new world or switching back to the main Galaxy Map.

Fleet Party: Recruit ships to fly with you and increase your chances of surviving random battles, but be warned. You perish? They perish and it costs money to fix 'em.


[Cast]
A list of playable characters you unlock as the game progresses.


David Dent:
Race: Near-human
Weapon: Swords (Latter Lightsabers and energy blades.)
Skills: {Depends on Class}
A cargo runner on his first mission so he can impress his family and move up the food chain, maybe even take over the company one day. Alas those dreams are shattered when he's sucked down a wormhole and plops into a galaxy he's unfamiliar with and armed with little more than his wits and a vibroblade to defend himself. He also has a mysterious "Sense" that seems to come to his aid unbidden and helps him avoid danger. He's an easy going purple haired fellow who enjoys nothing better than space exploring and helping those in need.


Rusty:
Race: Astromech Droid
Weapon: Weapon Mount Arm (Shock probe, buz saw and even lazer pistol.)
Skills: Tools
(Reduces the number of "jumps" needed to complete a Coridor)
A modified Astromech droid who helped to save Dave's life when his ship was on fire. Because of this he considers the little droid his dearest freind. Mostly useful in combat situations Rusty can serve as a Mechanic when needed.


Jhani Ragnos:
Race: Vega Centuran
Weapon: Energy Rays (Phaser-like weapon)
Skills: Privateer (Laser and profit enhancing skills.)
Rune Translation (Allows the party to read Alien Runes which are normally impossible for human species to read)
Passive Skill: Booty (Increases the amount of Credits dropped after battle.)
Crew Ability: Weapon's to Maximum. (Gives the ship increased laser power)
A native spacer of the Orilla Galaxy who swooped in and helped save Dave from the clutches of the fanatical Echo Warders. She wishes to get his help in taking down a criminal empire that's got her brother held prisoner. Jhani's ship can join your Fleet Party but if you do this Jhani will not be available for your Crew. She can still be part of the away team though.


Doctor Stu Esuna:
Race: Moogle
Skills: [Hypospray Progression] Every time Stu gets a new weapon he learns new healing powers
Weapon: Hyposprays
Stu trained as combat medic and fought in the first War of Indepence but when his people signed the ceasefire he was forced to go back into civilian practice. Now he finds life isn't as exciting as it was on the battle field...until Dave's nearly destroyed ship crashes on his little boring world. Stu is very serious and has a strange adversion to the word "Kupo".


Selec Arus:
Race: Bothan
Weapon: Lightsaber
Skills: Advanced Force Powers
A Jedi stranded in the Orilla Galaxy who had been previously dwelling in a cave and honing his Force powers waiting for the day somebody would come and take him from Moogopia. Selec is hard to read seeming opening and laughing one moment then solem and enigmatic the next.


Jethro Harper:
Race: Human
Weapon: Plasma Lance (Combination fire arm and pole weapon)
Skills: [Bullet Change]
When attacking you'll be promted to choose a ammo style and if it's in the inventory Jet can launch a special attack with Freezing,Plasma,Sonic,Explosive or even EMP blasts that can be used strategically for almost any situation however Jet cannot upgrade his staff's attack power.
A mercenary working for the uber Galactic crim racket: The Blackhart Syndicate. He is a man child but a crack shot and his weapon's strange design makes a useful counter to most melee weapons while still keeping the ability to switch to the combat style Jet excels in most.



Jill Vanselk
Race: Human (Corellian)
Weapon: Vibro Sword
Skills: Vibro Stance (Unleashes a variety of powerful skills based on the frequency of the blade)
Dave's co-pilot on hjis first flight sent along to help him unload the cargo and help fight off any pirates they might encounter. Rather a shame she wasn't prepared for Wormholes to another universe. Jill dissapears mysteriously from the Dewback's bridge and is assumed to be dead. Only your keen investigatory skills can prove this false. Jill's weapon is in fact all the vibro swords that Dave would have wielded if he hadn't switched to lightsaber.

Wow looks like some impressive ideas but I'd say you need more screen shots, Fishman. Though I like the characters! In particular the fact you have two alien girls, though one's on the short side. Is she a kid? Also what are these Warp Coridors like? Any video game examples? Please keep me apprised of this.

Amani is a young Vega Centuran sub species. Techically her etchnicity is the only thing that makes her different from her sister though. Warp Coridors are basically like the runs in the Gummi Ship when you were flying between worlds in KH and KH 2 only with monster battles awaiting you inside. I shall!

Oooh I liked the Gummi ship in both games. Though turn based? Hrrrrm... I suppose it'll be like Star Traders or something. I liked that game for the most part but I could live without the fuel system. At least it may be fun to try out once. -*shrugs*
