Plots of Ee-vul
« on: October 05, 2014, 05:26:37 PM »
I was wondering if you guys had to be villains in some movie or game...How would you do it? Like for example would you be a typical Dark Lord or would you be The Dragon and serve as a willing minion? Or would you Grimmjow it up and be all rebellious and state you're only here to get stronger? Or are you the minion pretending to be a servant just waiting for your chance to rise to power after you kill the Dark Lord? Just something like that.

Seeing how the character I usually hide behind is the villain of some sort in all my later projects, well not really hard. It's kind of a pride leads to the fall thing.

Long story made really short:
Marduk is the firstborn of the creator along with his siblings who guard over the world. Blah blah demon invasion, blah blah descending upon the world to deal with demons, blah blah demons kill his favourite brother, blah blah some of his siblings decide to descend on the world after the demons to act as gods for the people, blah blah humans in the world start to worship other gods that are trying to take over the world, blah blah magicians are destroying the barrier protecting the world from the other gods.
That's the backstory.
So this is what happens, somewhere along the line he gets tired of humans constantly ruining the world. He has lost his favourite brother and the creator, banished his false god siblings and defeated a demon lord. But history repeats itself and humans continue to either open rifts to the demon realm or weaken the barrier. So he gets pissed and argue that humanity should be disposed off. Humans lives are short and fickle, filled with hasty emotions and without foresight of the consequences compared to himself. They are a greater threat to the world than the demons. So he kinda goes on a huge purge thing where he creates an army of elementals and tries to kill everything. However, he is defeated and put into a stasis sleep with his powers being drained.

Version 1: Marduk is dead and continues to be dead until his killer is killed and his powers return to him at which time he acknowledge the power of humans and aids them in defeating one of the elemental gods who has broken through the barrier.

Version 2: Marduk remains in a stasis sleep for 1000 years at a time between his recoveries. And in a distant future the human race has encased his body in a generator and is using him as a power source in their futuristic sci fi world.

Version 3: In his stasis sleep he discovers the possibility to alter time and does so to right the wrongs of the past and wipe the world of humans and continues to watch over the world from above.

Version 4: Marduk discovers the power of space and time and wonder worlds to find the time when humans first inhabited his world. Only to bump into heroes of other worlds and games. (Cameo appearances)

If I were a villain I'd probably be like Muzet from ToX: A powerful individual looking for purpose who gets mixed up in the conflict of "each side thinks they are 'good', which one is truly morally right?" and end up being an antagonist to the main heroes.

Then I'll be an op squishy late-game main character in the sequel with a useless sister.

I seem to prefer the villain who has some sort of righteousness in his plans, either only to his deluded to mind or an actual tragedy. While I know many dislike him, I liked Seymour in Final Fantasy X. His evil doesn't come from a bad place, he truly wanted to free humanity from its suffering by ending humanity. There's a form of nobility in there. Or take D-Fens from Falling Down. He's the bad guy? We see a broken man, abandoned by society. A person who just wants to go home. That's a good villain, the one who is it out of necessity.

That's not to say I don't mind the followers or the criminal masterminds. I loved Saruman and Sauron in the Lord of the Rings. But again, they had their reasons as well.

Totally digged Seymour. Starts out as the arrogant prick who wants to put himself in centre and be the reason of everyone's happiness (like saving the blitzball tournament,  making Yuna marry him). And well I think he believed that he could defeat Sin at first. Then he wanted to become the final aeon and become sin and control it, then after his second or third death he leans more towards the whole "lets free everyone from the suffering of living". But let's be honest, being dead in FFX isn't a terrible thing.

I dunno about Seymour. I think drace has the right idea, but as he said many dislike him and I am a part of that group. Can't put my finger one why I dislike him personally... maybe it's because I'm a kefka fangirl.

I would be more of a power behind the throne guy, raise villains from birth, shape them and their his motives so that I can keep all of the power while keeping the target off of my own back.

If I was a villain I couldn't really scheme: I'm too honest and I hate the idea of deception. I'd probably be a figure like Orannis from the old kingdom trilogy if any of you have read those. Just using my power as absolute force to shape the world as I want it - kind of an absolute freedom, where living outside the rules of those in charge means becoming a bad guy.
