Was just added to steam. Barely a remake but at least the game works again.

I have missed this game, the terrible voice actors, the ridiculous walking sound effects and the RPGM-like battle animations that are basically just videos played on the screen with some transparency added.

Apparently it uses the same save file structure as the original, which means it's compatible with old saves. So there you go.

I played the one with the kid who wanted to be a pro pilot. Got half way through the second disk/chapter and haven't touched it since.
