I'm not saying this for sure or anything, but couldn't you just redesign the program in VB to ftp the pictures and then place them in a picturebox? That way the only real problem is accessing the database and getting a list of all the resources. And downloading a preview, but it'd save time, space, and would practically eliminate the need for the online generators when you can use the offline one.
For those versed in VB, youd basically check the database for a list of all the resources(i dunno how to do that), download the resources that the user wants (I know that this can be done) and then bitblt them onto a picturebox along with the other parts (I know how to do that one). Once they pick the set they want it can save the picture box itself, which would have the finished picture.
Crap. Just thought of something. In order for bitblt to work transparently, you need a mask, and I don't think the team would be willing to make masks for each and every submission.
But then you could just turn to directdraw or some other process. I'm sure it's possible.
Thoughts? Suggestions? Rants? Hate mail?

Visual basic can make the pretty grey box do stuff. It makes stuff called exe's and can do lots of cool things, like "downloading" the pretty sprite pictures, putting them on top of each other, and then saving the one big pretty picture.

I don't think Alex would allow us to access the MySQL database, plus, I don't think it's neccessary to make a VB version, since PB can handle the stuff just fine, and it has its own packing system.
And I'm not going to remake it in VB, because then I would actually need to learn VB.
