Actual Update

Well, it's time for an update.
Demo Progress- Overall it's going reall good. I'v ehad a few days off of school, and I managed to get alot done. I redid alot of Temeri. Almost all the people and shops are finished. I also just finished a quest in Temeri involving an angry mayor with a "broken" chimney. Thats all I'll say. You'll have to play it for yourself.
I was thinking of releasing a small "Tech demo" for people who really want to just try it out. I'll still have to think about it though. Oh, also, the OTOS system has been perfected. It will add a nice boost to the development of characters. Thats basically it. I'll finish the update with a screen from the intro of Chapter 2.
After the Southern King consults with many business men and such, all he wants to do is sit down and relax. But Alkamar comes by to see how he is. Comments are appreciated.
Also, dont forget to check the website daily. You never know what you'll find.

Alkamar seems to have some link to royalty, how interesting. A quest because of a broken chimney? Another interesting idea which I am looking forward to investigate.
If you need someone for a tech demo test, you know where to call.

It all sounds very interesting, I must say. Alkamar seems cool, though I don't know much about him. Glad to hear the OTOS thing will be perfected. It had bugs in the last demo, which were rather inconvenient, but they should all be fixed.
I note that "broken" has quotes around it. I am starting to expect some large animal to have been stuffed down it. I hope I'm wrong.

Make that map a lot prettier, it lacks life. If you're going for a castle courtyard type of thing, put some gardens in there, it'll make it look better. If not, then add some trees and such, and make that cement path smaller. Nice ideas though, keep up the good work. ^^

Ohhh, it's a path! I thought it was a wall at first...
But, as said, Omega is right. You need to liven up your maps a lot.
Here's a little tip or something if you want
Areas should have this if they are this:
Castle Courtyard- Foutains, flowers, animals like butterflies and birds, and bushes
Castle Insides- These are normally bear, depending on castle size. You'll want columes and etc, with the ocasional BIG window. Also, flower stands and guards in front of most doors and stairs add a nice touch.
Castle Grounds (before entering gate)- Lots of rubble and trees, with a litte pond or two here and there.
But, what I must admit is missing the most from all your maps is land elevation (sp?) You should start adding height to things. Even if it's only one square, it still adds a very nice touch to maps. You don't want to over crowd your maps, but you would rather less have them tp be empty.
Other then that.... yeah, swell lookin.

Ok, where to start. lol
BSW: He doesnt really have a link nessesarily (sp?) but he is very well known in the Southern Kingdom. And yea, a Beta tester you are.
lonewolf: Thanks!
And to show a screen, go to the scene you want to capture in ur game, and hit the printscreen button. Save, and then attach in charas.
Dragonium: Yea, I noticed the bugs after I released the demo. ^^' And, you may not be too far off with the whole chimney thing.
Oh and if you want to know more about Alkamr, go to my site and go to the Heros section. He is there.
Ace: Yea, the path is a bit big. I'll make it smaller. ^^ And the map lacks some things cause its only one small section of it. And I made it a seperate map than the actual cortyard. Mainly because its just used for a scene. lol, but thanks. ^^
Meiscool: Uhm....layers? Not all towns have layers in real life. But alot my my places do. It just doesn't show in the still shot. Thanks though.
Thanks for all the comments guys.

Screens!!!!!!!! lol
Here are three new screens from the new South Castle.
Note: There are no people, because I havent added any. This is just to show the design.
Armory and pub where the soldiers like to hang out.
Kitchen, which is real foggy from all the cooking, and will be filled with about half a dozen chefs later.
And of course the royal library. Which will be filled with many readers.
Enjoy!

I'm sorry, but I have to say it.
THOSE GUARDS LOOK OUT OF PLACE!
Other then that, they're ok, the maps I mean. However, the smoke would look better if you used a scrolling picture instead of the fog effect.

Maybe if you had that fog with darker white cloud things floating by, it'd seem like more like steam.

The fog does move in game. And I really cant see why the soldiers look out of place. I think they look great. ....Meh.

...meh is my word... even though everyone uses it.
So, anyways, I guess you could use the fog, but I like ZK's idea. Just tint the screen a different color and that should make things look better. But, I still say a picture of a cloud or something would make it look more fogy, but still, all this arguement over one room really doesn't matter I guess.

You know, I don't think those guards are out of place. Guards MUST stand out because in the end, THEY ARE THE LAW. The only problem is that they look like a bunch of clones. Maybe vary the colors but keep them in the same color range? Like, don't put yellow/blue/red/green/purple or together...they are guards, not a rainbow.
I agree with ZeroKirbyX's idea. It'll involve a little bit more work but I should be worth it. As far as 'meh' is concerned, that's used worldwide by god-knows-how-many peoples.
One last thing; I wish I had that library in my house, heh.
