I can probably agree on all those. I've only recently started listening to Agalloch, but it's one of the best bands I have heard in fscking EVER. As for Opeth... Well, Opeth is Opeth.

EDIT: Iron Maiden - Some of the songs off The X Factor (a truly underrated album) Judgement of Heaven, 2 AM, The Unbeliever... Maybe some more. And Infinite Dreams off SSOASS.

Radiohead - 'Exit music (for a film)' absolutely gets me.  'No Surprises' does too. Words can't really describe it.

Genesis - 'Firth of fifth' is absolutely amazing. Everyone should listen to it, even if you don't like the singing parts. Early Genesis is horrifically underrated.

Enter Shikari - 'Adeu' is pretty emotional too. I love that song.

I've been listening to nothing but Opeth for nearly two months, and honestly, I'm still nowhere near tired of it.

Agalloch are just fantastic. The whole philosophy of them is kinda, my thing. I just clicked with it. One thing I love is how they music isn't overly technical, there are no shredding solos or insane harmonies, but it's just simple and functional and it just works.

So yeah, awesome.

I've tried listening to Opeth before; I got the Blackwater Park album, since it's supposed to be their best, but it just bored me. I don't know why; I like progressive music and death metal, and I love the vocals, both the growls and the clean vocals are absolutely spectacular. However, I've recently started listening to My Arms, Your Hearse, and I'm finally starting to enjoy their music. Perhaps I will be able to enjoy Blackwater Park too.

I like technical music in general; Although I don't care much for skilled guitarists, since the world is full of those anyway (My favourite guitarists are Denis "Piggy" D'Amour for his use of dissonant chords, and Devin Townsend 'cause he's so damn sexy XD) but technical drumming, bass, keyboards, etc. is less common and can be pure bliss at times.

...Sorta kinda off-topic, sorry. Let me justify this post with a short related message.

'Radio GaGa'- Queen; Someone still loves you! That line, and the melancholic synthesizer riffs pretty much tear a hole in my hea'rt.

Lilium'--that song helps me sleep at night. Seriously--I listen to it before I go to b''ed.

'Karinui'--the ending theme for Hell Girl. The deep guitar, the soft voice...it's plain beautiful.

Dango Daikozoku, the ending theme for Clannad; I just saw it, and it is nothing if not the cutest thing in all of anime. An innocent and childish wish of 'rolling up everything that's sad and happy'...who couldn't love it? I'm gonna be serious...I almost BAAAAWWed when I first saw it. T_T

There isn't really a "best" Opeth album. They're all good in their own way. Blackwater Park is a very dark-sounding album, it's good if you can get used to it. The Leper Affinity, Harvest and The Funeral Portrait are the best songs on there in my opinion.

Still Life is my favourite Opeth album. It's a lot more melodic than others - check out The Moor, Moonlapse Vertigo and Serenity Painted Death, they are made of awesome.

My Arms, Your Hearse is awesome. Demon of the Fall for the win.

Ghost Reveries is good too. Plenty of nice songs on there. Same goes for Orchid.

Damnation is their prog rock album, not at all metal but good for chilling to or whatever.

Not much to say about Deliverance or Morningrise. Deliverance strikes me as kind of boring, I need to listen to it more. Morningrise is kinda... strange. I can't get into it. I'm not a huge fan of that album.

Opeth are fantastic. Check some stuff out. ^_^

Listening to Opeth is like white-water rafting, it's a challenge to get into but ultimately very rewarding.

This is true.

I saw the roger Waters Dark Side tour a couple of years back, and it was better then When I saw Floyd in 92. They played Dark side in its entireity, craystal clear and anally close to the original recording. When Eclipse  was sung My head asploded

Wish you were here is a bit emotional for me. That album was the first pink floyd I really started listening to, although my Dad used to play the wall all the time. At first I just really liked shine on you crazy diamond, but over time I've grown to love the title track. It's gathered a few memories.
