Most  likelly after a troll leaves in his own will, a mod shows up oblivous to it:
"What happened?"
And the others are like:
"Nothing, Mod, we were just about to have a contest."

Explain using details when you write, it'll help readers move more easily from paragraph to paragraph.

the statement was left short so it could be taken one of two ways, the correct way being up to the reader to try and decide, if they in fact choose to even put that amount of effort into it.

I could have meant it in regards to the topic of the thread...as in "Ed is consistently wrong",
or it could have been intended as a reply to your statement in regards to the topic "No, that's not how it happened"
Really, its quite trivial.

On an unrelated note, I agree with your member title fully.
