Word. Taking my GED on oct the 28th.
Moved to Canada during 11th grade, and that screwed everything up for me, since a US citizen in Canada is like a Mexican in the USA. Only an American in Canada can't take advantage of governmental programs.
Anyway, finally getting the show on the go, and getting this thing. I had to go to a city that's like 40 minutes away, but I don't have a car...
I woke up at 10:43, and looked up the bus schedules, which told me that my bus was leaving at 10:53. Man.. I don't know how I pulled it off, but I got dressed, fed my cat, let out and fed my chickens, and sprinted to the bus station. Somehow I ran unto the platform RIGHT when my buss was about to pull out, and made it onto the bus with .2 seconds to spare.
At this point it occured to me that I had NO IDEA where this place I was supposed to be going to was, or what stop to get off at.
So I gave them a call, and asked them where they were... like three times. They wouldn't give me an address, or non-vague descriptions, it was actually really weird.
I asked the bus driver if he knew, and it turns out that it even on his bus line. So I transfered busses, and asked that driver. She was only able to tell me what stop to get off at.
So I get off in the middle of this city and have, once again, NO IDEA where I am. But I DID see a fast food resturant, so I went and got some burgers off their value menu, and asked some white lady (like, the only person in there who I knew would be able to speak english well enough to tell me where I was) if she knew where the Adult Education Center was.
And man, this girl could TALK. Holy cow, she reambled on for 15 minutes without telling me anything useful. She did point in a general direction in the midst of talking with her mouth full, though, so I headed that way for a couple blocks and ate my burgers. Walked up to some guy who was getting on his motercycle, and asked him where it was, he knew but he gave me directions as if I had a car.
So, I ended up having to walk on the side of a freeway next to speeding *** cars, to get to here I was going... which ended up being on the other side of the freeway, so I had to run across it, which was kind of fun, untill I realised I'd have to do it again on the way back.
Signed up for my stuff, walked back, and realised that I didn't know what buss to take to get back home. I got on this empty buss, and asked if they were heading my way. Out of pure luck, they were, so I sat down. Like 20 minutes later, a crowd of like 50 or 60 mexicans just swarm up to the side of the buss, and they ****ing PACK the thing. The buss actually couldn't get everybody on it, we had to leave like five people there.
I've never been packed so close to so many people.
The whole trip was HORRIBLY unplanned, it was more like a vague thought like 'hey, I should get this **** done', when I rolled out of bed.
Doing all the papers took like 15 minutes, but it took me from 10:40 to 5:20 to get done what should have taken an hour and a half, tops. But it's all worth it. Once I get my test results, I leave for the boot camp.

Lol canada.
That must've sucked. Just hope you never have to go through anything like that again. Where they, real mexicans, or just people you're too lazy to describe? If so, that's just wierd.

General Educational Development (or GED) tests are a group of five tests which (when passed) certifies that the taker has American or Canadian high school-level academic skills. To pass the GED Tests and earn a GED credential, test takers must score higher than 40 percent of graduating high school seniors nationwide. Some jurisdictions require that students pass additional tests, such as an English proficiency exam or civics test.
That's from Wikipedia.

Hmmm, my school didn't require that. They required that we take the ACT instead.

GED? That won't bode as well for you as a standard diploma would... But hey, at least you'll have something to your name in the land up north.

I got the Army to stop calling me by telling them that I planned on living a productive life.
It didn't work for the Navy so I had to tell them that I was afraid of water.

Where were you tryin' to get to man? I think I've been on a bus more crowded than you. Lucky enough I had a damn seat, but it was so bad they kicked a wheelchair guy off to clear up more seats.
