The kid got banned for being a tool. I know probably most of us don't HATE the guy, I don't even hate the guy. Got nothing against him. He's great with sprites, maps and has some cool ideas for systems. But he still broke the rules and didn't care. It's clear the mods/admins didn't come to this decision quickly or rashly, it took YEARS to come this decision. Why defend him so vehemently? He got what was comin' to him.

He had thousands and thousands of posts... How do you think he got 'em?

I'm not vehemently defending him, I'm vehemently defending consistency. Everyone breaks the rules. To me, it's like all of the mods gave him to him, not proved him wrong. From what you're saying, he basically said, "Go ahead ban me. I dare you You won't do it! You won't do it!" Then the mods went, "Oh yeah? Oh yeah!? *BAN* Hah, proved you wrong!!!" So what exactly did you gain? Bragging rights that you actually did it? Great. Dare me to jump off a building and tell me I won't do it. I would say, "Hey, you're right I won't."

Really, to sum it up, if you ask me, he said "go ahead, you won't ban me" because he really wanted to see if you'd actually do it just because he said he wouldn't. And you gave in. He never actually stepped way out of line with the rules as much as the few who have been banned in the past have. Now to finish it, I dare you to ban me for posting this. I'm sure it's breaking in the rules in some way or another, so ban me for it. Let's see if you give in twice.

What the hell? That was a drastic turn in the conversation. While I think Gem's a cool dude, I'm not going anywhere near his nuts (although I do see some people headed South for the winter...). You might need to take a chill pill. I can't say that I'm digging Gem's behavior right now, but that's not within my power to change. I ignore it. You should, too. Comment on it if you must, but don't make a spectacle of yourself over it.

You... weren't around when gem was admin, were you? That's essentially why it is how it is now. I'm pretty indifferent about it.

But anyway, I think you're misinterpreting me, dren. I'm not saying they did it to say "OH LOOK WE DID IT" but more that they were conned into doing that. I dislike how mods are given infallibility here in general. Mods overall are given to much respect IMO. It's only when they do something crazy, like Warxe nuking Forum Gaming, that anyone says anything. But the little things... well no one ever complains because they're afraid to.
