On topic, why is the fire starter always way, way better than the other two? For some reason, it always mows down the competition from fairly early in the game up to the Elite Four. Especially Blaziken. That thing is a beast.

I'd say Infernape is the worst of the three starters in the latest game. Empoleon mixes water and steel. It's awesome.  Infernape barely learns any good attacks(with the new Attack/special attack thing they introduced in D/P) unlike Blaziken.

EDIT: Also, as a person of chinese descent, my mother used to tell me stories about the Sun Wukong, the mythological figure upon which Infernape is based. So there's a connection there.
