RGB is messed up. With RGB, you can mix red and green and get yellow. Ever tried to mix red and green paint together? Whatever color you get out of that, I can guarantee it's not yellow.

Of course, if you do the same with additive light, you'll get it. Colors are weird.

I knew you would use the paint argument, which I already accounted for previously in posting. Lights are additive, so Red+Green=Yellow. However, the physical matter that reflects light is subtractive, filtering out the different light frequencies with added paints that are assigned to a specific color of light to reflect, absorbing all the rest. Try using Magenta, Yellow, and Cyan. You'll have a wider range of color.
