I think that's starting to change. I see a lot more people calling themselves nerds without being ashamed of it. It's sort of evolving into a positive term.
Ellie: I had a slice of ham in my hand. I was going to drop it, so I slapped it hard. It attached itself to the wall
Most people here in the Great State of Rain and Trees think that nerds are stewpid.
I think that's starting to change. I see a lot more people calling themselves nerds without being ashamed of it. It's sort of evolving into a positive term. And I know it's apparently not cool to have sympathy for people anymore, but what turns me off about Encyclopedia Dramatica is how damn hateful the whole thing is. They tear into everyone from a girl who happens to have an unfortunate appearance to someone who's a complete ace at webcomic'ing but deserves their wrath for some inexplicable reason. Some cases warrant a little bit of snark, like that David Gonterman guy, but how many people actually deserve the amount of vitriol these guys spew?
I mean, really. Most of us spend our days looking at the computer, chatting with people that we have never actually met before, playing or making games, and a few like to draw or work with music. And thats all. We have no lives outside the computer.Of course, there are exceptions. I myself have a nice number of friends and hang out with them often. But still. During a huge part of my day, I am just pathetic. And so are most of you.Talk about it.
Of course, there are exceptions.
