Format and reinstall windows.XP is effortless to pirate if you can't find a legit copy. Hint: Torrent it.Chances are you wont be able to recover most of your data.
Ellie: I had a slice of ham in my hand. I was going to drop it, so I slapped it hard. It attached itself to the wall
Umm... could we possibly try to find a solution before abandoning all hope?
I know what the problem is.I hope you have your OS disc handy, cause you'll need it.I believe what is happening is that you're getting a BSOD, but there's a option somewhere that allows your BSOD to reboot the comp as soon as it happens. (I stumbled across it the other day somehow.)Anyway, if you can find your XP disc, you need to boot from it, then where it gives you the option to install a fresh OS, recovery console or quit, you go with the recovery console. Then when you are in there, type chkdskthat'll make windows check itself, then fix any problems it has wherever it is, assuming you have the same thing I'm talking about. Then when you boot it up, everything will be fine and all your stuff will be there and you won't have to lose it all due to bad advice. What happened the last time you were running windows before this started happening? Did you turn the PC off while it was booting up? Or did it crash at some point? It would be unusual for this to happen without provocation. My PC is old and has this shitty routine it does where it might not turn on properly, so I have to turn it off mere seconds after turning it on, then turn it on again. Like it needs to warm up or something. Anyway, sometimes if I don't turn it off fast enough, it'll corrupt something or something, and I'll have to dig out my XP disk. But I live by chkdsk. chkdsk has fixed it every time, so yeah.
My computer seems to be smart enough to figure that out by itself. Every once in a while, I have to let it run through that lil' operation.
It's Windows, there was never any hope to begin with.
