P.S.  Final Fantasy 8 had the worst spell system in the fucken world.  Though, I did like Squall and his strange behavior O.o

You know, I actually like FF8. I got into it easier than I did with 7 (maybe cuz I copied my brother's 7 file cuz I didn't want to do the reactor and I had no idea where the hell I was at). But really, I don't see why everybody hated FF8 so much. My theory about it is this: It was because it was by Square. If it was by a different company, it woulda sold a lot more (or not at all, depending on the company and how they did it).

And did anybody try this (really, I'm not sure): Rewrite FF8's story. Same story, but make it BETTER.

A DS would not be able to handle it as is. Either the DS would need a major revamp, or the game would have to be majorly downgraded, which would make it unenjoyable for the most part.

Er... The Series of Final Fantasy is, and has to my knowledge, always been done by Square. They just merged with Enix latter and became known as Square Enix.

I fully believe the opposite - that FF8 only did as well as it did because it was made by Square and had the "Final Fantasy" in the title. Not to knock your liking of the game, but a lot of gamers didn't like it at all and probably only picked it up because they enjoyed other FF titles and figured 8 couldn't be that bad.
