Jordan Mechner came up with that name for the movie.  He also co-wrote the script.  (and if you don't know who Jordan Mechner is, you have no business bitching about this movie.)

I know who he is, but that changes nothing. Only because it is the author who made the crappy change, it doesn't make the change any less crappy.

If Kojima made a movie about Metal Gear and Snake was blonde with a austrian accent, because Kojima wanted so, it would only show Kojima doesn't know what his fans want to see.

Not exactly. Pretty much everyone from the Fire Nation is Indian/Middle Eastern/whatever. So basically, all the villains are brown people!

This is arguably better than before, when they cast Jesse McCartney as Zuko...I am not making this up. If you don't know who he is, he's a pop singer who has probably done something else that I can't think of. His only acting credits are from soap operas. Dev Patel's an improvement, but at the same time...the kid's not exactly "sexy, troubled heartthrob" material.
