Yeah I was very defending of this project til it's revealing today.I gotta say it sucks as what I can see of it now. They should've done sprites instead of 3D if they wanted to go back to roots, and get rid off stupid homing attacks, and stick to either wii mote (side) and classic support. The only thing I can hope up for is because of the bonus stage looks almost like the original sonic 1 and the music is actually quite enjoying. Otherwise this is looking like fail.Sega, if you're not gonna do something good with Sonic; kill him off. While he has some dignity left.
While he has some dignity left.
this is very "meh"this is nothing to get excited about. The only reason sonic gained popularity in the first place is because sonic team made good use of genesis' "blast processor" which at the time was fast as hell. And then the internet came and (being easy for 13 year olds to draw and make fanfic thereof) and for some reason it held a name in the annals of gaming history.I was hoping to see some 3-d or something rendered in a way that would emulate the old 2-d. As far as gameplay though....Sonic was (aside from the speed and fatal risk to epileptics) very generic. And still is. Collect 100 rings for a 1-up. Get some power-ups. Smash some things and get stuff. Jump on enemies, but not the spikey ones. At least the MM9 remake was hard. Sonic was always easy as a drunk 21 year old on roofinol in a nightclub
I general I'd say I agree 98% with Grandy's post above.
Waaaaaaay too late for that.
Ellie: I had a slice of ham in my hand. I was going to drop it, so I slapped it hard. It attached itself to the wall
Go ahead and beat Sonic 2.Last stage, no rings, two bosses in a row, the last one has not only immortality frames as his only weak spots are a few pixels away from either spikes or fire, both kill you no matter what upon touch. Fiver hits to kill him, IIRC. I still cn't do it in this day and age.
Quality of game design isn't what was under scrutiny; difficulty is what he was trying to show.
It makes you a MAN. A BLUE man.
So bad that Sonic comes back to life later on and falls in love with a human
Because imposing artificial challenge by yourself counts for good game design.
