Corey, I'm pretty sure even if you knew, it's a liability on their part. So if you REALLY wanted to sue, you could.
Probably not worth the effort, though.

You can sue because regardless of whether or not you knew, the company has a responsibility to protect their employees' safety. At least in Ontario.

In the US you generally don't have to sue. Workers compensation claims are legally mandated; your medical expenses WILL be covered if there is reasonable proof that the accident happened at work. This is why companies have to pay so much for insurance. A machine that flattens stuff without a guard is CLEAR negligence. You'd have a very strong case here. The only thing that could screw you are didn't report the accident to your boss.

It's tall compared to the rest of the world.
I'm pretty sure average man height is only 5'11".

Yes it is. Personally, I prefer shorter girls. And I am pretty sure I am far from being the only one who does, so your height is very perfect.

I'm probably around 5'10". Too lazy to check. I know I'm pretty close to 6'0" though.

Yeah, I'm only 5'4, Zerl. And that's really more what I say to people, because it's closer to 5'3 1/2.
