Story for game

Well, I don't know what it's from, but it seems cliche. Its for a game that I might start when I finish Alex's Adventure.
The boy loved to draw. He would make a little story to go with it. His characters had very creative adventures. After a dream of being sucked into his world, he never drew for months. After getting yelled at by his parents for getting 60% on a test, he writes in his notebook " If only there was a new world, where no one can boss me around. I wish I was there." He went to sleep, and when he woke up, he was in his world. He went to find away out. Its going to be a platformer, but not scrolling and not a lot of coding.

The part where he woke up and was in a new world seemed very cliche. And the thing that the main hero of the story is a boy who likes to draw seems kinda lame.It might be just me.

Being cliche doesn't really matter as long as its done well. This reminds me of the painted troll world on oblivion

The aspect is...lackluster.
Try that he gets trapped in a universe he created within his drawings.
