Programming FAQ

I found the other FAQ wasn't really programming-oriented, so this will be updated with questions that actually have to do with the program.
Q
: When I try to start the game, it says "You must set a start position" and closes.
A: To fix this, go into Event Editing mode (press F7, or click the yellow square icon on the second-highest menu bar), and right-click on a tile. Select "Place Party Start Position", and that should fix it.
Q
: When I make a treasure chest event, it keeps giving me the same item without disappearing.
A: You need switches. For an explanation on those, look at
this thread
.
I can't think of any more off the top of my head, so post any questions like that in here.

I have a probelm with one of my tilesets: everything in the tile setting screens seem to be okay (circles) but still when I enter the map I can't move. What gives?

Make sure that on the second layer that the first tile (usually used for transparent nothingness) is set to a star.

A) This isn't really the place to post this.
B) To change the tiles "walk-ability", go to tilesets (or chipsets depending on translation) in your database. Then press the passibility button. Then, to make a tile unable to be walked on, press the tile until it turns to a white 'X'. The character no longer should be able to walk on it.
