hello, those of you who have paint shop pro instaead of photo shop, here is how you can set your colours to 256 without making the colours look crap,
open your image, then go to file save as, click options on the bottom right, then click run optimizer, change the image type to pallet based and set how much dithering to 0, then choose optimized octree the method of colour selection you want to use then click ok and save
then import the file into rpm maker 2000/2003.
images:
the pallet will not change from (left) to (right [256 colours]) but you will be able to import the image to rm2k/3
