Originally posted by Raen RyongIf you're just starting Final Fantasy, I recommend from 5-10... X-2 might turn you off the series unfortunately...Final Fantasy 1 and 2 (non-gba versions) ARE challenging (FF2 especially), possibly too hard if you're starting. One of the things I like about the Final Fantasies is that they have so many sidequests and secret bosses... I like my hidden challenges... some games have a few secret bosses, but the bosses tend to be weaklings. Not the case in Star Ocean: Till the End of Time...FF1 - No secret bosses (non-gba version)FF2 - No secret bosses (non-gba version)FF4 - Asura (Easy-Medium), Bahamut (Medium)FF5 - Omega (Medium), Shinryu (Medium)FF6 - The Eight Dragons (Easy-Medium)FF7 - Ultimate WEAPON (Easy), Emerald WEAPON (Hard), Ruby WEAPON (Hard), Lost Number... I guess (Easy)FF8 - Ultima Weapon (Medium), Omega Weapon (Hard)FF9 - Hades (Medium), Ozma (Very Hard-Extremely Hard)FFX - Dark Valefor (Medium-Hard), Dark Ifrit (Medium), Dark Ixion (Hard), Dark Shiva (Hard), Dark Bahamut (Very Hard), Dark Yojimbo (Hard), Dark Anima (Hard-Very Hard), Dark Magus Sisters (Very Hard-Extremely Hard), Penance (Extremely Hard), Nemesis (Hard)FFX-2 - They're all fairly simple, with the exception of Paragon (Medium) and Trema (Medium-Hard)...Well, those are my opinions on them anyway. The Dark Aeons are considerably harder than most of the others, but I've tried to keep more or less the same scale throughout. There is a big difference between Medium and Hard, as there is between Hard and Very Hard. The other differences not so big.FF12 is supposed to be amazing. Hopefully there will be lots of lovely secret bosses... though harder than Penance means I may just die... took me bloody ages to beat him. Without Zanmato -- I'm not cheap.
And ah. FFX was the **** with uberhard secret bosses -_- Don't think I even beat one, eh. Xcept Valefor maybe...
Originally posted by coasterkrazyI wonder if I'm the only one who beat Bahamut without using reflect. I did it such a ridiculous way though. I just timed Kain's jump so he would never get hit. Everyone else died, but I was just focused on winning. Though in the end, I wish I had known about the reflect method so everyone else could have taken in part in the massive amount of experience.
