The Four Pillars

Here's some... backstory... for my game. :> Hopefully I can get my skills up to snuff for what I want to do with it, and make a cool game.
----------------
In the beginning, there was only Essence, the primal force of creation. From this Essence was formed the Four Siblings, gods and goddesses of the elements, after countless untold eons of nothingness.
Neryth, God of Earth: The benevolent Oldest Sibling, strong and enduring as the mountain, of infinite patience and wisdom.
Ta'liir, Goddess of Water: Beautiful and fierce, the Second Sibling, fluid and changing as the oceans, patient but fierce when angered.
Urai'ah, God of Fire: Fierce, hot-tempered, and brash. The Third Sibling showed the loudest voice and the most capacity for violence, with very little patience for anything, even his siblings.
Marahan, Goddess of Air: Demure, soft-spoken and caring, the Youngest Sibling deigned to be the force to help keep peace amongst her Siblings.
They existed, for a time, in the peace and tranquility of nothing. However, the gods eventually grew bored with their placid existence. The children of the Essence, went out into the ether, and began to forge...
From his own flesh, Neryth brought into existence all of the earthen structures of the universe: the planets and moons.
From the flames of his heart, Urai'ah brought forth the stars, the suns, and the fire that warms the heart of each planet.
From the tears shed from the beauty, however barren, of Neryth's creations, Tal'iir created the oceans, the seas, and all bodies of water.
And, the youngest Marahan, breathed into many of the worlds. Air stirred, and life was born. Together, the four created the primary world in which they would act. This world would be called Valis. Combining their power, the four brought about life: humans, plants, and animals on Valis. For untold millenia, the gods wandered amongst the growing civilizations, enjoying what they had wrought.
Years after, they left Valis... noone knows why. It is said that, to maintain the world... the universe... that they created, that each Sibling forged a pillar, assigned a Child (a being of immense power) to guard the Pillar, and set the Four Pillars in the ether, supporting Valis and their prized creation.
Tens of thousands of years have passed since the Four Siblings departed from Valis; civilization has grown, the Priory of Tesha (a religion of worship of the Gods) has become the primary religion, and the Origin of the Four Pillars continued to be taught to many as history.
It is now the year 1091 CE (Common Era). On the continent of Beld, settled in the Karsh Mountains, is a branch of The Academy, an organization founded to train warriors, mages, healers, and anything in between. Valek, the Presider of this branch of the Academy, is getting his students prepared for a show of skills to the major leaders of the nearby countries. All is going well... except for that slacker, Rhys!
-------------
The Main Characters:
---------------------------
Rhys Aldair
Age: 19
Class: Fighter
Skill: Tactics
A youth from the southern village of Hiltz, in the country of Bersai. Training at the Academy in the Tactics of warriors and fighters, Rhys is a proficient warrior, training under Valek himself. But he slacks off on the other things he is to learn in the Academy: etiquette, history, and other mundane skills. Charming and handsome, despite his slacker nature, he is a popular member of the Academy.
Alys Aldair
Age: 19
Class: Healer
Skill: Magic
The twin sister of Rhys, also from Hiltz, to the south, in Bersai. Her training at the Academy is the opposite end of the spectrum from Rhys'. Training under Elinea, the Master Healer of the Academy, Alys is showing the promise to become a powerful mage. Polite, studious, and careful, Alys tends to be the foil for her brother's rashnesh; where Rhys wishes to rush into things, Alys tends to favor thought over reaction.
Clare Oreus
Age: 17
Class: Priestess
Skill: Invocation
Sheltered, cloistered within the Temple of Podera, Clare Oreus is a young Priestess of the Priory of Tesha. Born in the nearby town of Gassha, Clare showed an innate connection to the powers exhibited by the Priests and Priestesses of the Priory; at a young age, she was placed in the temple by her parents to train. Ignorant of much of the outside world, Clare embarks on a journey of discovery when she meets Rhys.
Some Features:
--------------------
Overworld Map similar to Chrono Trigger (smaller overworld walking sprite, normal sprites in cities and other areas)
Detailed characters and vibrant, full world.
Detailed classes, weapons, armor, and other equipment.
Epic storyline of love, betrayal, trust, and heroism.

The story is alot like Zelda: oot don't you think lol( in the beginging anyway).
I don't know what your RPG maker Skill level is, but the features you listed are really "speacial', there actually expected. Just wait till Meiscool comes around, he'll get you lol. But no worries lol.
Really, it sounds like it could be a good game with the right amount of work put to it. But I have a feeling that it will be pushed aside after about a week of work, no offense. Beleive me it happens alot here. I've done it a few times myself lol.

Well, I said 'some features,' not 'special features.' Considering I've downloaded a few RM2k3 games that looked rather under-par to get examples and looks at different types of code, eventually some 'cool stuff ' will be added. It'll just take time.
My RM2k3 skill level is low, but I'm learning; that's the main thing that's going to take me the longest time, is learning everything so that I can put it together in a successful fashion. So pretty much everything replied is being taken with a grain of salt, being a newbie to RM2k3, but not a newbie writing, game design or ideas. ^^
Trust me, the 'gods created the world' thing is probably about the only similarity to Zelda (which I hadn't really noticed, simply because 99% of medieval-styled RPGs have gods involved somehow). ^^
I've been making resources using Charas.EX and a combination of the offline battle character generator, and the online one (editting the offline one's resources to line up with the bodies better, thus making them look a little more clean.) I plan on editting the battle chars to remove the smiley faces, and maybe downsize the sprites (and weapons) a little, to make them look better, scale-wise, against the monsters I've found, scanned from books, or drawn. So hopefully there won't be a lot, if any, RTP in the thing.

Hey, well, you have good grammar, and you seem very organized. I must say, with some practice, you can become a good game maker. This type of game is a good way to learn.

The whole thing with the pillars and everything is WAY to cliche for me

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN

I decided to make my battle charsets from the sprite resourcs, rather than use the battle character generator. I think it's worked out pretty well, and it's helping me with my spriting.
Doing this will also allow me to utilize some of the cooler charsets that I made. First attachment is Rhys' battle charset.

your story sounds a bit like zelda, and kind of like FF4 i think with the pillars thing instead of crystals, sounds interesting tho, ill wait and see if there is anything promising about this, as it develops
