*The year is 2733. Upon discovery of other planets in deep space, Earth has changed from a planet with many countries to one United Empire. The story of a young aspiring Navy captain named Mykel ensues, let me tell you the tale...*
After a brief CGI introduction you begin the game as Mykel, a junior-grade naval officer assigned to a Galactic Navy capital ship. You are eager to prove yourself to the Galactic Council, but are still too inexperienced for your own command. One morning, you awake to the ship's alarm and quickly discover you are under attack by bug-like alien monsters. You valiantly try to defend your ship, but there are simply too many of them. You are forced to flee or you will certainly die from the enemy onslaught. With the help of a tomboyish starship mechanic named Elysia, and a relatively lenient tutorial level, you manage to fight your way to safety, but you can only watch as your ship explodes.
Desperate for answers, you and the Elysia decide that the best course of action would be to travel to the homeworld of a mythical Oracle. You head out immediately...
I'll leave the rest of the story for you guys to find out when the game is finished. Currently, I have no screenshots, only a composed storyline and a request for some graphics pending. It was cool untill I read "Mythical Orcale."
With your kinda setting, that kinda ruins it.
Make it where your guy goes to see a friend that knows a little about a lot of things, or go to a pub to gather info. Anything but a magicky person.

so far it sounds real cool, dont normally play sci-fi, Meiscool is right about the oracle part, sounded out of place to me but then I wouldnt know what to call something of that nature during that time period,
*Where's Yoda when you need the green lil guy?"
edit: as for the tavern bit I've seen to many games using it as a place to get information no matter what time period like Knights of Xentar, Full Throttle, Cobra Mission and even Escaflowne even though that was the movie I watched or I think they got information there been awhile
edit again and srry I'm thinking to much right now:
as for what drenrin2120 and meiscool were talking about with the oracle, i got this idea but seeing how I dont know what these aliens bugs do or what there size is I was thinking if one were to bite the hero and some sort of thing like lycanthrope was to happen but then they find a cure so no morphing or w/e,
well the medicine and the poison or w/e causes that morphing had a weird effect when mixed together and the hero see's images of the alien's point of view that somehow ties up to what an oracle does

I like the futuristic settings, because there's a lot of original things to do with futuristic settings. The orcale thing is a small turn off, but as long as it's not a big part of the storyline, I'm sure it won't be too bad.
