Sideways battle systems

One thing that I noticed was that on the complete resources, some of the monsters were sideways. Now,I've seen games like that, and I know that's what battlechars are for. What I also know is that I have no idea how to work them.
It's very annoying to fight with the default system of RPG Maker 2000.
(for example, you can't see your own character.)
Thanks in advance...that is, if meiscool doesn't reply...

Its called RPG maker 2003.
Its default system is a sideview.
Also, In RPGmaker XP, you can import a script for a side view battle, with 3,4,5,6, party members in that battle at any given time.
Short answer....RM2k sucks if you want to have a side view. Youll spend more time coding events and such than its worth.

RPG Maker 2000 doesn't have battle characters. If you want them to show up, you have to use battle animations for their attacks.
I would suggest that you get RPG Maker 2003 if you want to use Side-View monsters. However, if you're going to us RPG Maker 2000, then you're pretty much stuck with Front-View monsters.
