Here is a link to discussion on Artificial Intelligence within games. These are actual papers and research by the game industry.
I'm looking at it right now - to take a relook at my tactical based system - mostly for the difficulties of pathfinding. Hope this helps others out there.

Another useful Site
So Useful - especially for beginning programmings - I think I'm going to be getting into scripting now that I've found this site - as it draws me in and gives me a ground to stand on, which I haven't been able to comprehend in other tutorials.
But this site really covers pathfinding and movement programming well.
