The Minerva Project
(I've attatched a custom title screen with silohettes of all of the characters' weapons, the only ones not there are Daisho's rapier and Baryl's ring, mainly because I could not fit them in right. There is a tank cannon(Khazim's weapon) on the right hand side, the most obscure one to me.)
50 years ago, a secret scientific orginization dubbed "The Minerva Project" was established by the king of Eurthos, the most advanced nation in the world. The goal of this secret project was simple - to create a perfect race of obedient and powerful beings that would stay loyal to the royal family for all eternity, and to bestow the entire royal family with immortality. However, a fatal mistake took place. Attempting to seperate things as small as atoms, they created a new substance, dubbed "atma." Atma had extremely interesting properties - such as the ability to grow rapidly and a liquid-like silvery form. The most striking property of atma, however, was it's seemingly animal-like intelligence. So a tiny amount of atma was created, but overnight, it grew exponentially and absorbed the computers in the laboratory, along with the information they held. With its newfound knowledge, the atma quickly grew and seeped all over the entire establishment, quickly overtaking the scientists. Soon the atma had taken over the entire nation, and more importantly, all of the nation's knowledge. With it's ductile form, the atma began to create an army out of its own essence...
A calm day in Socca, the Arabia-esque nation on the coast, or so it would seem. Suddenly, in the palace of the Sultan Daisho, two guards run in and collapse in front of the throne. Quickly standing up, the young Sultan exclaims, "What happened!" ... "Soldiers... silver... too powerful..." A guard says, before retiring from the world completely. "What could posess such power...?" Daisho says, suddenly hearing the door to the palace slam closed behind him. "General Oro!" Daisho says, turning around. "What's happening!"
"..." A tall man dressed in white and brown robes and dull armor stood infront of him, a large halberd in his hand, his eyes misting a soft but radiant blue. He lifted the halberd, spinning it around and pointing it at Daisho's neck. "Surrender..." Oro said, "or die."
Meanwhile, in the remains of Euthos, a young man dressed in grey clothes stands up... "What... happened?" he says to himself, looking at the deserted city around him, the streets and buildings covered with atma.

Dage Armuski
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Class: Soldier
Weapon: Mech Sword
Nationality: Euthean
Dage was a young soldier in the Euthean army before Atmos overtook Euthos. Weeks after the event, his seemingly lifeless body awakened in the streets of the deserted capital city. Dage is at first self-centered and self-interested, but as the plot progresses he becomes more emotional and caring of other people. His special attacks include his sword morphing into different items and delivering special attacks with them.
Maria Dalahan
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Class: Scholar
Weapon: Books
Nationality: Euthean
Maria is extremely intelligent and has knowledge far beyond her years. A scholar at one of the most prominent schools in the world, she leaves school after meeting Dage and agrees to help him. Maria is very logical, but she is also outspoken. Her weapons are books, and her special attacks consist of certain spells only castable when a certain book is equipped.
Khazim Khan
Age: 34
Gender: Male
Class: Cannoneer
Weapon: Cannon
Nationality: Soccan
Khazim is a kind man willing to do almost anything to help his friends. When Dage and Maria meet him, he is at the remains of an ancient airship. He is extremely loud and courageous. His weapon is a cannon, and his special attacks consist of different elemental and physical attacks with his equipped cannon.
Daisho Elzhon
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Class: Sultan
Weapon: Rapier
Natoinality: Soccan
Daisho is young and carefree, terrible traits for a ruler of a nation. Currently the leader of a nation under Atmos's rule, he will do anything, even follow Atmos's orders, to preserve himself. He does care about people who he considers his friends, though. Daisho uses a rapier as a weapon, and his special attacks consist of a series of Hexes.
Weiss Orcan
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Class: Controller
Weapon: Mannequin
Nationality: Euthean
Weiss is a religious servant at the Euthos Cathedral. He is always clad in blue robes, hood, and cape. Now that the Cathedral has become a cult worshipping Atmos, Weiss has went along with it in order to stay alvie. Although quiet, Weiss is extremely compassionate and protective of almost all people. He uses a mannequin stringed on his left hand as a weapon. His special attacks consist of using his mannequin to control enemies, fellow party members, and his own limbs.
Lorelei Halles
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Class: Priestess
Weapon: Rod
Nationality: Euthean
Lorelei is also a servant in the Cathedral who faked obedience to Atmos in order to stay alive. She wears the same uniform as Weiss, except light purple. Also a quiet person, she is loyal and caring. Her weapon is a rod, and her special abilities include blessings and hexes.
Phantom
Age: 7120
Gender: Male
Class: Ghost Knight
Weapon: Mace
Nationality: Unknown
Phantom is ancient knight from the medival ages of the world. Kept wandering the planet by dark magics, Phantom has had near infinite time to ponder most things not even thought twice about by most people. His entire body is covered in leather straps save his right cat-like eye, and he wears patched cloaks over his straps. His weapon is a mace, and his abilities tap into the stats and life of his allies and enemies.
Baryl Cass
Age: 11
Gender: Male
Class: Aquamancer
Weapon: Rings
Nationality: Ikean
Baryl is a gifted young child with the special power of manipulating water from the industrial nation of Ikea. He can also use voodoo to inflict status alignments on the enemies. His special abilities are Aquamancing (elemental water attacks and some summons) and Voodoo (Status alignments on enemies.) He joins the heros in hope of finding his lost parents along the way of the journey.
Saku
Age: 49
Gender: Male
Class: Warrior
Weapon: Quad Blades
Nationality: Euthean
Saku is a result of experimentation by the Euthean scientific projects. Created to be the perfect warrior, Saku has kept his conscious even when experiments were supposed to remove it. Heavy at heart at what he was to become, Saku fled the facility and hid himself. His weapons are quad blades and his special attacks consist of blade furies.
Allen Cass
Age: 37
Gender: Male
Class: Juggernaut
Weapon: Can use all weapons
Nationality: Ikean
Allen is a master warrior. The lost father of Baryl, Allen joins the group when he finds Baryl with them. He has excellent abilities with all weapons, and his special attacks are enraging techniques. He cannot cast Voodoos, Hexes, or Blessings.

The Title screen is ok, but weren't you making a FF-game? And if you aren't, then why do you keep using 'Grey Magic' and stuff like that?

Well, I was making a Final Fantasy game. This is the final fantasy game, but modified to be more original so I can have my own title.
I suppose I could change "Grey Magic" into something different like Voodoo or something else to affect status allignments.
I removed all other refrences to Final Fantasy (moogle, and the name Odin. 'Atma' wasn't gotten from the final fantasy games, it's a variation of the word "atom" that I thought of. Black and White magic are in a lot of other games, but I could call the Hexes and Blessings if that would make it more original.)
Finally, what I came on this late at night (or early in the morning) to do, I'm posting my custom charset of Weiss, took me about an hour to do. If you all think this style is orignal and like it, half the time was spent figuring out my style, so the other characters will take only around 30 minutes to sprite (without special poses, which I'll do later.)
edit: I fixed the skills of the heroes like you suggested from black, grey, and white magic to other things.

With the chipsets what about mac and blue weren't you the one who called it a masterpiece?
And with the mapping remember the following:
- Don't leave too much open spaces the secret is to start the map small and work your way wider.
- Fill space up with objects. Suggested that you add items in them.
- Make each map stand out in their own way like one town may be surrounded by forests and another may have a river cutting through.
- Do not make the walls or borders square.
That's all.
PS: Are you gonna release like a demo soon because I wanna play this game your making.

There is a tutorial about mapping done by Meiscool in the tutorial section. That will help you.

And no I did not call Mac and Blue a masterpiece, but I am going to use some of his chipsets... I couldn't find a chipset anywhere of a pyramid shaped tech dungeon though so I might need to take a hand at custom for that one...

I got the biographies for the other playable characters, I've been too busy to work at all on this lately. I have character art for some that I'll scan in over the weekend though (scanner's broken and we're getting a new one on saturday.)
All of these characters join after part one, and I can't tell much about most of them that won't reveal the plot.
Name: Garoska
Gender: Male
Age: 37
Class: Tribal Fighter
Weapon: Feather Sword (Sword made out of razor sharp feathers, more for stabbing than for slicing)
Nationality: Genkan (Nationalities added for other characters as well.)
A warrior from the tribal plains of Gen, Garoska is a defender of the only village of semi-civilized life in the area. He has been promised a hand in marraige to the beautiful Rain by her father, the Chief of the village, but neither love each other. His weapon is a feather sword. His abilities include stealing items that can be used as weapons off of some foes and different attacks with his sword.

Age: 33
Class: Elementalist
Weapon: Dreamcatchers
Nationality: Genkan
A beautiful magician from the plains of Genka, Rain is the only one to be born with magical powers in the entire nation for 100 years. Believing this to be a prophecy, her father was made chief of the entire nation, waiting for her to be married so she could be the queen. Her hand in marraige is promised to Garoska, but she is truly in love with a brave knight, who she met and had a child with nine years ago. Her weapons are dreamcatchers and her skills include elemental magic.

Class: Breakdancer
Weapon: Handguns
Nationality: Ikean
A teenager with no home, who wanders the polluted and abandoned streets of Ikea. Tyson is an optimistic youth who always sees the glass as half full. His weapons are twin handguns and his skills include breakdancing and special shooting techniques.
Name: Patricio
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Class: Fencer
Weapons: Epee/Foil/Rapier
Nationality: Espatian
A young knight of the pre-modern Spain/wild west/steampunk nation Espatia, Patricio is a noble young man who rides a horse and dresses in red. A master fencer, perhaps one of the greatest in the world. Lives for the moment, and loves to gamble. He has the second most variety of weapons in the game, using epees, foils, and rapiers. His skills are different fencing techniques.
Name: Taro
Gender: Male
Age: 27
Class: Guitarist
Weapons: Guitars, Amplifiers
Nationality: Ikean
Taro is the hot-headed leader of the rock band Onyx Snow. One of the few people who has achieved sucess in the natino of Ikea, Taro has a good life until an incident with the Euthean air force. He uses an electric guitar as his weapon connected to an amplifier (different types of amplifiers include magic amp, power amp (2x attack power), etc.). Skills include different songs.
Name: Tamiko
Gender: Female
Age: 25
Class: Drummer
Weapons: Drumsticks
Nationality: Ikean
The drummer of Onyx Snow, and the on and off lover of Taro. She was involved in the same incident with the Euthean air force and was left for dead in a bomb explosion. Her weapons are sets of drumsticks and her attacks are both combo attacks with Taro and musical attacks of her own on her drums.
Name: Cynthia
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Class: Assasin
Weapons: Discs
Nationality: Euthean
A Euthean nobleman's daughter, Cynthia is the epitomy of "silent but deadly." She hasn't spoken a word since she saw her entire world get swallowed by atma and is found unconscious in Euthos by the party. Her attacks with her disc are deadly, and she has special abilities such as garrote and assasinate.
Name: Ivan
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Class: Commander
Weapons: Rifile
Nationality: Euthean
The former prince of Euthos, and the former commander of the Euthean air force. Not even Maria's intellect can match his. Next to nothing can be said about him without major spoilers. He uses a rifile as a weapon and his skills are special shots and physical attacks with his rifile.
That's it, you have no idea how long it took me to come up with all this X_X. Actually, you probobly do. Now, I should probobly get to work making the actual game instead of planning characters.. xD
